Thanks, OP. Easy peasy. No test drive necessary and by the time I got home the $50 Visa was sitting in my e-mail. I will use it to pay for a month of my cable Internet service.

Mr. V, I’ve never done these test drive offers. What do you do? Just show up at the dealership and say you want the offer? any tips how best to do these offers is appreciated as I am a NOOB!

MC, I just bring the printed offer and tell them I want to redeem the test drive offer and half the time they just ask me if I am really interested or if I am there just for the gift. I am honest and say just for the gift, as I’m not in the market to buy a car right now. so they take my paper to redeem and I am on my way. I don’t waste their time and they don’t waste mine. You should try these offers, MC. Really usually quite easy money when they come along. Worst case scenario you have to spend 20 minutes taking a test drive.

Afterwards ask them to process the offer right away. Make some excuse to leave so you don’t waste time talking prices. Use your burner phone number. Usually takes an hour and can be fun.
