Not sure i understand this - $39.95 is the monthly fee? Then why say annual plan not monthly plan?

This is a 365 day service plan. The minutes, texts, and data are the yearly allotment, although you can buy more minutes, texts, and data.

And the short answer is no, this will NOT work current tracfone accounts. This one has the service tied to the sim card, some have successfully switched the sim cards and added the new allotment to the old account, but YMMV. If you have to pick a provider, then the package will not come with a separate plan that you can just add to your account. There is a similar auction that may or may not work with current accounts. I did buy one yesterday from the other auction listing (same seller, same price, but goes in and out of stock quickly), hoping it will come as a separate card as it has before, but the reports are all over the place. The other listing has no option to pick a carrier, but says AT&T in the listing but the pictures say choose your carrier. Confusing.
