You can no longer use your Amazon gift card balance to pay for Subscribe & Save orders that you first create.

From REDDIT user posts: This was just changed July 1. as of today you can’t use your gift card balance when placing S&S orders. Last time I was able to start a S&S order using the balance was June 28th.

I used g.c. for a new SnS order on July 2.

Can’t confirm or deny myself on this, just shared what was posted, seemed to be coming from a few posters, not sure if this now the rule or not. guess you’ll just have to try and see if it goes through.

@mistercheap Not sure what you mean “if it goes through”. I ordered on July 2, signing up for SnS and paid with gc. I’d just earned a $125 Amazon gc for opening a Prime Amex card and paid with the gc. Maybe its subsequent shipments that can’t be paid for with gc.

All I can say is, read the posts on Reddit. some people were stating they couldn’t use their GC’s to place a NEW S&S order. In the event that news was true for some or all, I shared it here.

@my4mainecoons as a follow up, I did an S&S for Cat Treats yesterday. I have a $13.xx credit balance with Amazon and it was NOT given as a payment choice to use. I have to use a credit card option. So there definitely seems to be truth about this change.

I just created a new S&S order using my GC balance.

Maybe it has to do with the g.c. balance being high enough to cover future shipments. My gc balance was >$500 when I placed my order.

it’s possible, obviously something seems to be the ‘kicker’ in whether or not it will apply itself to a new S&S order.

I have a $10 promo credit and <$10 GC balance.
With a $7 item, I could set up a new S&S order with just the promo credit alone. No credit card, no GC.
WIth a $11 item, I could also set up a new S&S order with the promo credit and $1 GC balance. No credit card needed.
