EBAY to end EBay Plastic/Digital Gift Cards Aug 3, see post for details (current GC's will not expire)

Starting August 3, 2026, eBay will no longer sell physical or digital eBay gift cards online. For a limited period, physical eBay gift cards will remain available for sale in select stores.
If you already have an eBay gift card, you can continue to use your balance on eBay just as you do today. In the U.S., gift card balances do not expire.
If you return an item, we may still offer you the ability to choose an eBay gift card as your refund option.

Given some of us do cash out points for EBAY GC’s on some platforms, that option will likely go away. So redeem before it isn’t an option any more.

I have been doing better than that by buying them at Target. They often have offers like my current offer from them: make 3 $40 purchases and get $15 back in rewards and then I pay with my Red Card and get an additional 5% off to make for 15% off 3 variable amount ($50) e-bay gift cards (For their eBay variable amount cards Target only lets you choose $15, $25, $50, etc. - no $40 option or else it would have been a 17.5% discount after the dust settled).
