Kroger launches “Kroger Ship,” an online home delivery service, offering over 50,000 items for deliveries, in four cities (Cincinnati, Houston, Louisville, and Nashville), though more cities will be added soon. The service will require a minimum $35 order to avoid the $4.99 delivery fee. The service will also provide an additional 5% off with a monthly subscription option (“Set & Save”).

To celebrate the launch, you can save 15% off and get free shipping on your first order with code SHIP15 at checkout, no minimum purchase requirement. Offer expires 12/31/2018, 7am ET ???, while supplies last. Exclusions apply. All orders automatically earn fuel points, which allows you to save up to $1/gallon ($0.10 off per gallon for every $100 spent per month). You can stack digital coupons with other savings. They plan to expand to other cities soon, so if your city is not included now, check back through the end of the year to see if you can take advantage of this promo before the code expires. THEY JUST SENT OUT A MASS EMAIL ANNOUNCEMENT SO THIS IS NOW OPEN TO EVERYONE (assuming they’re not restricting this to areas served by their B&M locations).

Be sure to check their promotions page to find additional savings to stack. They are currently offering up to 20% off brands like Quaker, Post, Oreo, RXBar, Starbucks, Bush’s, Nature Valley, Kellogs, Mr. Coffee, Kind, Enjoy Life, Simply Organic, Arrowhead Mills, and Simple Truth (one of their Kroger brands). They also currently have a 15% off back to school paper products promo.

    News article:

"America’s largest grocery chain launched “Kroger Ship,” a direct home delivery service, in four cities on Wednesday: Cincinnati, Houston, Louisville, and Nashville. It will expand to new markets in the coming months.

Kroger (KR) already offers delivery from 1,200 of its stores through third-parties like Instacart and curbside pickup at 1,250. Both are valuable tools to help Kroger offer current and potential customers convenience and keep pace with rivals.

But Ship new will give the company a new weapon as more shoppers order groceries online and legacy brick-and-mortar retailers Walmart and Target build up their digital capabilities to compete with Amazon (AMZN). Amazon’s Whole Foods acquisition last year blurred the lines between online and offline food retail…

Kroger’s delivery website went live on Wednesday, and shoppers can pick from more than 50,000 grocery, household, beauty, and pet food choices.

The company is focusing on its private label collection with Ship by offering more than 4,500 of its own brands…

Kroger is offering free shipping on purchases above $35, but orders below will come with a $4.99 delivery fee. During the launch phase, the company is offering shoppers free shipping and 15% off their orders using a promocode.

Ship also features an order-and-save subscription, which Kroger believes can help convince customers to make repeat purchases.

Online purchases will be fulfilled directly from Kroger’s two current fulfillment centers and a third one opening in the fall. The company is working with FedEx (FDX) and the Postal Service to ship orders, which can be delivered as soon as the next day."

Brand Exclusions (15% off coupon is currently working on some excluded brands for me)
The following brands may not qualify for any sitewide discount and may not count toward any minimum purchase requirement: Allergy Research Group, American Weigh Scales, Biochem Sports, Black & Decker, Bluebonnet Nutrition, Brentwood, Burt’s Bees, California Baby, Crock Pot, Cuisinart, DaVinci Laboratories, Douglas Laboratories, Dr. Bronner’s, Dr. Mercola, Eidon Ionic Minerals, Emerson, Genestra, Hamilton Beach, InterPlexus, KitchenAid, Klean Athlete, Lipper, Mr. Coffee, Nesco, Ninja, Nordic Naturals, NuMedica, Panasonic, Pharmax, Planetary Herbals, Presto, Primula, Proctor Silex, Progressive Laboratories, Pure Encapsulations, Quest Nutrition, Redd Remedies, Sante Active, Simple Truth, Simple Truth Organic, Solgar, Source Naturals, Stansport, Starter Kits, Taylor, Vital Nutrients, Vital Proteins, Wobenzym and Xlear.

    Why are certain brands excluded?
The small number of national brand partners listed above specifically request that their products be excluded from our sales. We respect and value these relationships and as such, we follow their guidelines.

    Promo codes
We love promo codes - and we know you do, too. To get the most out of them, here are the facts you need to know:

    • Promo codes have restrictions and expiration dates. Please be sure to review the details and disclaimer associated with the promo code you’re trying to use. This information is located at the bottom of the promotional banner.

    • NOT ALL items are eligible for discounts. For total-order discounts (e.g. $10 off or 12% off your order), please see the brands in the Brand Exclusions section above that have excluded themselves from the sale. These items also do not count toward a minimum purchase requirement (if a promo code requires you spend a certain amount.)

    • BOGO items and promo codes: If you’re buying any BOGO items, the second discounted item does not qualify for any additional discount and does not count toward a minimum purchase requirement.

    • Not all codes can be combined or “stacked.” Here’s how it breaks down: You can’t combine two promo codes that each offer an order-level discount (e.g. $10 off or 12% off your order). You can combine an order-level discount code with a product discount, brand discount or free gift promo code.

    • For codes that can be combined, enter one promo code at a time and then click “Update” after each.

    Free items: full-size and samples
The following restrictions apply to all free items: Limited time only. While supplies last. No rainchecks. Limit 1 of each free item per customer. Free items cannot be shipped internationally.

Save up to 32% off groceries + free delivery… maybe that should have been my title because few seem to be jumping on this.

    I’ll try again…

    • The extra 15% plus free shipping, no minimum offer for first time customers has been extended (now expires 4/27/2019, 7am ET). Use promo code SHIP15. See second post above for exclusions.

    • You do not have to live in an area with physical Kroger (or affiliate) stores: they deliver to any address within the USA.

    • Not hot enough? The code stacks with

      • Sale prices
      • Digital coupons
      • Promotions (they just expired many 20% off promos on December 31st, stacked with 15% off your entire order = 32% off, so check back often because promos are released regularly). Current promos:

  • So, I can buy Barilla spaghetti for $1 (reg. $2.07), get an additional 15% off, and have it (with $35 worth of other Hot Deals) shipped for free, even though I’m 150+ miles and one state away from the nearest Kroger? 😯

That would make some of the grocery prices less than at my local Target… 🤔

Essentially, yes. However, the normal $35 minimum needed to avoid the $4.99 delivery fee does NOT apply when using the 1st time customer 15% off code because that code gives you free shipping with no minimum.

  • …and Kroger even posts the nutrition labels for each item, so that I can avoid purchasing something containing an undesirable ingredient, such as high fructose corn syrup, hydrogenated oil, aspartame, or the like?

    This could be a game changer… 🤪

    Thanks, @fivetalents!
