RE: Staples 9/29-10/5 B&M only. $200 Visa gc no activation feeposted in Hot Deals
I turned in my ink cartridges and had my Rewards card scanned. The cashier forgot to add the $200 Visa, so that was purchased in a separate transaction. The cashier did not bother to scan my Rewards card, saying that I would not get any reward for the Visa anyway. I just checked my Staples Rewards account, and both transactions are there, even though my Rewards account number is NOT on the Visa receipt. I have never seen that before.
BTW, there is an Amex Offer for $25 off $100 at Staples. Primarily for business cards, but I got it on my Blue Cash Preferred.

not sure if Staples is trying to drive business away.
Drive business to the store, and get people to pay for the Plus membership.
So this is proof the $100 minimum logic is not built into the kiosk/store order.
That $100 minimum has not been implemented anywhere, but they can do that at anytime.

I just joined Staples Plus to see if I could use Staples Rewards on an online order. No go for me. This is the message I get:
“Coupon couldn’t be redeemed:The entered coupon doesn’t exist. Please double-check or reenter to make sure the coupon code is typed correctly.”Anyone have luck using them on a kiosk order? These changes are a BIG devaluation for me.

I think only new rewards issued after you joined Staples Plus can be used online. No problem with kiosk order if you pay in the store.

Maybe the person on SD handed over their Rewards first?
It was an online transaction, and the $40 reward was applied before the coupon. I don’t know if the order makes any difference for online transaction.
-
RE: Staples ink rewards redeemable in-store only starting 7/11/19posted in Deal Discussion
A post on SD seems to suggest that the reward is now deducted before determining the purchase requirement for a coupon. For example, $70 purchase - $40 reward = $30, so a $30 off $60 coupon cannot be used. I cannot test if this true because my reward coupon no longer works online.

@my4mainecoons said in Is Staples Rewards no Longer Deducting Coupon Value?:
Kiosk receipt doesn’t have the coupon on it so I should be able to get the whole $16 rebate. (Maximum rebate is $16.) The packing list won’t have the coupon either.
Looking at my last kiosk order, the packing list does have the coupon total under “coupon credit”. The kiosk “customer copy” doesn’t look like a receipt.

Are you saying that after using it for $2.88, it resets to $5 for the next time? But if you use it for $5, then that eGC is done?
Thanks for the heads-up. I actually use conventional 5w-30 oil, not synthetic, for my 2008 Prius. With these deals, I guess there is no reason to stay with conventional.
