I did, but the bummer is this is only for selected titles, not any movie.

There’s two separate offers. One is for the $.99 select rentals (starting from $.99, some of them are more). Another one is if you loaded the offer to your google play account before December 26th, you can get a $.99 rental; although some accounts were only able to redeem a $1.99 offer, most were $.99

Mine works at $.99 for any rental, fwiw.

You actually dodged a bullet by not being able to buy a third party gc. Some types of gift cards were “bought” but not activated and able to be redeemed. Apparently Sears didn’t pay their processor.

Users are reporting that Sears and Kmart pulled all remaining third party gift cards from store floors.
