Kmart 100%+ back in SYWR points on $10+ Smart Sense and other house brands (namely, Little Ones, Champion Breed, Cat & Co., Grey Wolf, Image Essentials, be bath escapes, or Essential Home products) Now through Sat., 2/3/18. MAX 50,000 points per member.
-
@mistercheap Oh I’m sure you’ll make it work, or you’ll do a return.
-
I did an online order on Sunday, picked up on Monday when the roads cleared up. Still no points. They are having issues, but will they fix them in time and correct all the past orders without having to email and/or return & rebuy. Has anyone successfully bought stuff since Monday and gotten the correct points?

the agent last night told me to call back tonight if they didn’t show. owed $29.xx in points, only doing the one order for now, so I’ll just keep pestering them til I get what I am owed. I wasn’t planning on using them right away, so the longer they are good for, the better off I am I suppose.

PS, I’d love if they overlapped with the bonus points coming due 2/1, so if I got them credited on 1/19 instead of 1/16, that would do the trick.

If they haven’t fixed it by now, wait until tomorrow to call them again.

I have $12 of eligible products in my cart and it’s not showing 100% back in points, which it did on Sunday. I’m not going to order anything until I see that it’s working. The deal is noted on the front page of their weekly ad, so there is something definitely wrong right now.
Weekly ad link text
Someone on SD mentioned the deal worked for them today (1/17) in store. I went back into my online cart and removed the $12 Smart Sense items and re-added them and now it’s showing as working, at least for me.
-
It’s now working and fixed again online - points are adding as they should!

Everyone says SHC will soon go belly up, but as I marvel at the brilliance of the SYW and points program they have in place, I just can’t believe a company with such a brilliant marketing program can do anything except succeed.
This promotion fools your brain into thinking you are getting things for free and also eliminates your right to make a return.
No one is getting anything for free. They are offering 100% back in points on items they select to be part of the promotion. But of course, you have to pay $50 to buy the stuff that they select to be part of the promotion. Then you get the points and those points also can be used only on stuff they select. The points can be used on anything already not discounted. At a store where discounting everything is part of their marketing strategy, those exclusions are pretty limiting.
On top of that, the promotion eliminates your right to return items. When you return the first batch of items you bought and paid for with cash, you can get your money back - less any points you later used that you earned from the sale. So if you used all your points on other stuff, you can return items you paid for but they won’t give you any money back. If you try to return items you paid for with points, you just get points back that you must use to buy something else at Sears. So they pretty much limit you to exchanges and eliminate returns!!
Brilliant marketing!!

@barnyardromeo Then you get the points and those points also can be used only on stuff they select.
Yes but no if you know what to buy. You can spend the points on:-
housewares which includes Pyrex, Rubbermaid, storage totes, cookware, small kitchen appliances, etc. While paper goods are excluded, parchment paper is in Housewares not paper goods.
We have a lot of Oxo thanks to KM. -
garden stuff including plants, fertilizer, hoses, chemicals, etc. Our garden starts have come from KM: tomatoes, squash, herbs, etc.
-
We’ve bought 5 qt Mobil One Oil and submitted for the Mobil Oil rebate. Paid for completely with points and received the rebate. Washer fluid.
-
Morton water softener salt pellets
-
clothing including Hanes underwear
-
recreational stuff: coolers, toys, flashlights, folding chairs; exercise equipment; basketballs, footballs, etc.
-
tools- both Craftsman and Stanley; Hardware, rope, duct tape but not packing tape which is School/Office.
-
Seasonal stuff. grilling supplies. IDK if they carry propane refills but we’ve gotten charcoal. Salt, shovels, Christmas stuff.
AND the points you earn at KM can be used at Sears. Pay for an oil change, a car battery, tires, a major appliance. Almost anything at Sears.
We earned 49950 at KM on Sunday. On Monday we used them at Sears.

Actually the points CAN be used on anything, even if it is already discounted. I use my points to buy clearance items all the time.

Exactly. Surprise pts/Free Cash can’t be used on clearance but earned points can be used on anything. So if you have Surprise Pt/Free Cash you’re “limited” to my list above but if you’re using earned points you can use them on just about anything-- liquor, stamps, gc exclusions as usual.

Bought a cat litter box at the store, got my $25 in points (well it said I would get them in the morning). Still haven’t received the points from the first order that I picked up on Monday. There was a lady there picking up about 60 online orders, that is a bit excessive especially since the store only has 2 cashiers. I hated to even tell the cashier I had 2 orders to pick up. They have to enter a name or phone number for each order.
-
I stand corrected. Based on what you guys are saying, I guess regular points can be used for anything. For some reason I thought they could not be used for “hot buys” and other clearanced stuff, but I could very well be confusing regular points with surprise points.
I still think its a brilliant program, making people think they are getting stuff for free when really, overall, they are just getting stuff for 50% off and also limiting people’s ability to do a return.

These orders were getting more than just the points for the items, for instance, people that ordered $50 worth earned 60K points, 10K of those are bonus points valid in early Feb. So an additional $10 in free stuff.
-
Some of these items even at 1/2 price at pretty good deals, especially when you are talking about grocery/household paper goods items. This isn’t free 1/2 price shoes where you can only stockpile so many.
-
Many of us earned 3-4% CB from CB sites plus CC purchase points.
-
The real value comes when you combine these points w/ Freecash points in your account. For instance, you have a $10 off $20 apparel Freecash offer, you buy $22 worth of clothes/socks, etc, $10 hits the free cash, $12 from your points. Now you’ve gotten another $10 free from that initial investment you say is only worth 50%.
You have another free cash offer for $12 off $30 Kmart sold items, boom another $12 free to stack with $18 of your points.
For that initial investment, you can easily walk away with $140-$150 in merchandise/cashback when the smoke clears. It is MUCH better than you think.

@mistercheap Well said MrCheap. For a tool junkie like me, the SYW rewards program has enabled me to save a lot of money on Sears tool-related orders, often paid using rewards on consumables bought from Kmart.
It’s not widely known that Sears.com sells lots of tools and shop supplies besides their own Craftsman brand, and their prices often are competitive with Amazon (and can fluctuate just as much). Also Amazon doesn’t give me “surprise points” or “free cash” to use either.
I just don’t get all the grousing. I sure will miss my local Sears store when it closes. They haven’t announced it officially, but you don’t need to be a detective to see that new stock is not being put out, and that empty shelves and item hooks outnumber others.
-
@ukedog There’s a new promo for $50 back in points wyb $75 in tools at Sears but of course you have to spend the $75 in real money. Real money would be a gc-- if you remember our discussion this past fall. Online only.
-
Last day to get the extra 10,000 pts wyb $50. The extra $10 will be available tomorrow along with the $50 in pts.
-
I see I got my extra $10 in SYWR points, along with a couple of nice Freecash offers at Sears
($15 on bedding, bath or small kitchen appliance purchase of $15 or more, $15 on sporting goods purchase of $20 or more.)
It’s a mystery to me just how long they can keep this up!Sooner or later, they have to lose surface tension and just go under…
