RE: Bed Bath & Beyond selling Amazon GC’s.
YMMV.
I thought so as well.
Didn’t see any last Christmas Season when Bed Bath Beyond did a similar promo, so I asked a CSR at our local store if they had any Amazon GC’s.
The CSR went on a tirade, saying:
“Oh no. Bed Bath & Beyond doesn’t sell Amazon Gift Cards. They’re a big competitor to Bed Bath & Beyond. We would NEVER sell them.”LOL

RE: Prime Members: 10% Off Gifted Prime Memberships of 3 Months ($35) or 1 Year ($107) @ Amazon.com
As a datapoint, my annual Prime Membership was set to renew in September. Had a bunch of Amazon Gift Cards so bought myself the gift of Prime on August 31st, only after assurances that after doing so, my account would use the Gift Of Prime Cert. Was informed by Amazon that the only way to renew an existing Prime Membership by using Amazon Gift Cards for payment was to buy a Gift Of Prime for myself.
What ensued was a nightmare.
My primiary credit card on file was still billed for my annual membership, despite having Gift Of Prime. In 2 chat sessions before my renewal date, I informed both CSR’s I didn’t want my credit card to be billed and would be using a Gift Of Prime to renew. Was assured that my credit card would not be renewed.
After my card was billed, again, despite assurances that it wouldn’t happen, I chatted with a CSR to refund the annual Membership and Gift Of Prime. Was assured I’d get a full refund on my credit card, and that things would finally be made right, and Gift Of Prime would be applied.
Nope yet again.
Shocked at the level of incompetence, I escalated this snafu to Executive Leadership at Amazon, as 3 previous attempts, even with a Supervisor were futile to fix things. They finally fixed it— including a refund to my credit card, but took so much work, and effort; it was an incredible hassle.
Be warned if you buy this that you indeed have to cancel your Prime Membership— well assuming you get a competent CSR that knows what they’re doing—not sure if by doing so would remove your grandfathered deal, and then go through hoops of Amazon applying The Gift Of Prime Membership to your account.

RE: WALGREENS BLACK FRIDAY 2019 ad (November 28 - November 30) - Nothing Free
Sigh
I know for Thanksgiving/Black Friday 2018 at Walgreens, there were no 100% Back in Register Rewards offers as well. Can’t remember if this was also the case in 2017, but if memory serves me right, this was the last time that Walgreens offered 100% in Register Rewards for items sold on Thanksgiving/Black Friday.

RE: $10 free CVS Extrabucks each month when you join CVS’ paid membership rewards program for $5 a month (or prepay a full year for $48, or $4 a month)
Just as a datapoint to anyone that signs up for CarePass—( loving CarePass so far, btw) – just wanted to pass this along:
After your first/inital $10 Extra Care Bucks Reward for CarePass is loaded to your card, your subsequent “monthly” $10 Extra Care Bucks certificate is loaded to your card not at the beginning of the month, approximately one month after your sign up anniversary. They load it on the Sunday of that monthly anniversary.
So for example, if you signed up initially on August 28, 2019, 30 days would hit on September 27, 2019— however, CVS loads the $10 in ECB’s it on the Sunday of that week-- since Sunday is the first day of the Calendar Week, CVS would load the $10 in ECB’s on your Extra Care card on September 22, 2019.

Join Target Circle for free and receive 2x 5% off coupons + 1% back on purchases (ZIP CODE LIMITATIONS)
Target called has a new free program called Target Circle. You can get 1% back on purchase; Red Card holders get 5% additional back when using Red Card for payment.
Seems very limited, in terms of availability— tried using 3 different zip codes in different parts of the U.S., and none currently qualify.
For those that have experienced the ability to sign up, reportedly they email you a 5% off coupon via email after signing up, and will send a 2nd coupon on/near your birthday, once your confirm your birthday with the program. Coupons appear to be only valid in store. If you have the target app, they’ll be added automatically so you don’t have print them out.
Hopefully someone here will benefit from this.

While the item page for the Farberware Knife set clearly shows “$15 Rebate Available”, when you click on the rebate form link, the offer for the knife set on the rebate form, shows that the rebate is only valid through 11/24. 😬
Based upon my experiences with JCPenney, I’d say it’s a big roll of the dice to expect them to honor the rebate, even though it shows the link for the rebate on the product page. YMMV.
Please, don’t add YMMV to my deals when they are not. this rebate is VALID FOR .com only orders and is submitted online https://www.jcpenneyrebates.com/#/home?pc=18-55484
Mr. Cheap:
I’ve gotten burned by JCP on rebate typos in the past, with them refusing to honor them, despite their error.
I appreciate all of your posts on here, but no need to take my comment of YMMV personal.

RE: SYWR Points Back with Purchase Offers Thread
@lo said in SYWR Points Back with Purchase Offers Thread:
Has there been a notable change in SYW CS quality lately? The Midwest call center was reportedly shut down last Friday, and the majority of the SYW department (including a couple high-level executives) was laid off a couple weeks ago (source is this layoff forum where Sears employees post: https://www.thelayoff.com/t/W9XoBFu ; separate thread regarding call center: https://www.thelayoff.com/t/Wn5Dw5j). I tried emailing them a couple days ago for a points deal that mucked up on me and got no response; normally they would respond next day. Wondering if they stopped monitoring email at all, or if it’s just slower now.
Hmm… Have only gotten an offshore call center for all of my phone calls to the SYWR call Center since September. And have called before 5PM Central Time. I’m surprised they’ve had US-based employees working there in recent weeks. It’s been awful dealing with the foreign call center. 😞
Completely the opposite when dealing with the Midwest-based SYWR Call Center; those folks we’re incredibly competent and kind.
Scary stuff that the majority of the SYWR staff was axed. 😬
To me, that signifies the demise of SYWR very, very soon.

RE: SYWR Points Back with Purchase Offers Thread
Exactly!
Considering that both CVS and Target are also having no minimums for free standard shipping until Christmas, you’d think at a bare minimum Kmart/Sears wouldn’t raise the free shipping threshold to a higher level.
But nope, instead some “genius” bean counter @ SHC decided to do the opposite, and raise the threshold, increasing it by more than 68%. 🙄
-
RE: SYWR Points Back with Purchase Offers Thread
Well, both Kmart and Sears hiked the threshold spend for free shipping from a $35+ order, to now a $59+ order. That’s more than a 68% spike!
-
RE: SYWR Points Back with Purchase Offers Thread
Umm wow. Sears is starting to slowly hyper-inflate the prices of some items online, and then put fake markdowns to price the items “On Sale” — like what you’d see happen when B&M stores go into a liquidation markup pricing scheme. For one particular item, the “Sale” price on Sears’ website is $2 more than the MRSP Non-Sale price that was the regular price two-six months ago.

RE: SYWR Points Back with Purchase Offers Thread
@mrvietnam said in SYWR Points Back with Purchase Offers Thread:
Here is a Sears offer if you are a gambling sort (paid over 12 installments):
Spend $300+, get $300 CASHBACK in points. Points issued in 12 installments. Members get $300 CASHBACK in points over 12 months when you spend $300 or more on qualifying major home appliances, floorecare, snow removal, and lawn & garden items sold by Sears. Offer valid 11/4/18 through 11/17/18. Points issued in 12 equal installments of $25. First installment issued within 24 hours. Points valid for 7 days. Offer not valid with any other offer. Items must be sold by Sears. Purchase requirement before taxes and after other discounts and must be made in a single transaction. By accepting Shop Your Way member benefits and offers, you agree to the Shop Your Way terms and conditions, available at www.shopyourway.com/terms. Members earn points on qualifying purchases, excluding sales taxes and other fees. Extra points are inclusive of, and not in addition to, any base points earned on qualifying purchases. When extra point offers are combined, total points earned will be less than the combined point totals for each individual offer.
Earlier in the year, when Sears was doing similar 100% Back in Points offers for high dollar spend, it was distributed equally over 12 MONTHS.
For this current offer of Spend $300+ on selected Major Appliances & Snowblowers, get $300 Back in Points offer, Sears’ website is showing that the points are equally distributed over 12 WEEKS, not 12 Months.
If that’s not an indication of the lifespan of Sears, I don’t know what is.

RE: SYWR Points Back with Purchase Offers Thread
It just dawned on me. Why would Eddie Lampert & ESL Investments go so “all-in” on all things Sears, and property?
Simple.
After Bankruptcy and Liquidation hit, he and his Private Equity company can gobble up all the remaining assets, and Sears 2.0 will be re-created. His company will get additonal income stream generated from royalties from using the Sears brand by independently owned Sears Hometown Stores. Craftsman products have already been selling at other stores, and that’s a continued income flow for Eddie/ESL. Same with if Sears decides to fully let go of the Kenmore brand to Eddie & Co. Some of Sears stores that ESL/Eddie gobbled up that can’t find tenants will be re-born into Sears 2.0 stores. The wild card is the Sears Auto Centers. Will they be sold to Amazon for tire installation, or will Sears/ESL/Eddie hold onto the assets?
The gas may be almost out on Sears as we currently know it, but it’s brand and its Stores aren’t fully dead. (But Sears Gift Cards and SYWR Points are a completely different matter.)
