We were all very saddened to hear that our favorite deal site was shutting down. So we banded together and created a new home for our community.
I hope that this site can be everything that the old was one and more. But for that, we need your help. We will need active moderators. We will also need help with design and adding new features. If you are willing to help with any of these, please contact me.
If you are using ABP please support PhatWallet by adding our whitelist.

Just be aware that because of the similarity in the name you may eventually get a C&D letter. IANAL but it does seem like the stupid sort of thing that eBates would do.

We totally discussed just that but decided that a) it will help FW refugees find us/join for now and b) we need to priortize getting this site usable ASAP since the plug can be pulled on FW at any given moment with no warning (they’re many things that need to be tweeked/customized behind the scenes). Our venerable founder dangeruss is certainly open to suggestions for new site names as long as the domain name is available or can be purchased for a reasonable price.

Thank you so much for setting up this forum! Can’t imagine life without FW, but this is as close as FW and it’s a great comfort to see the familiar names here (unlike facebook group).

I’m gonna hold you to that! That’s one of the main symptoms (not cause) that led to the demise of FW, so we need posters, voters, discussers, and click throughs more than lurkers (not that there’s anything wrong with that).

I am a little worried about that too. If they do, we should come up with a backup name. I will start a thread.

We’re approaching 100 registered users, please continue to spread the word to all the good folks at FW. We may have growing pains and things to figure out, but with the right folks we can keep the essence alive.

Thanks, yes, I think I can take the credit. I went to check if the domain was available before even mentioning it.
I think legally you’ll be okay, since the domain is phatwalletforums.com and not phatwallet.com. It’s obvious it is just a discussion board website and not using any of their trademarks or logos.
Plus since many posts will mention CB at places like Ebates, I think it would be stupid for them to bite the hand that is help driving traffic to their site for click thrus.

You can help by posting deals and important thread contents from FW to make sure this site have enough content for soon to be former FW members.

Thanks for setting this up. I appreciate what Mistercheap did, but I don’t have a FB account and would never consider setting up even a fake one.
I checked FW multiple times every day, so I could moonlight as a mod if you don’t get enough volunteers. Also, I pledge to donate every dollar that I save on deals posted here through BF. I didn’t see a donate button, but I’m sure it will appear soon enough.

My 2 cats have had their own Facebook pages for years. It gets extra offers, while keeping your real account between you and the people you choose to share it with

well this is nice, but how do you transfer content from the old site, particularly Finance forum. the hot deals and the rest can be seeded from scratch, but that one is tough to rebuild all over.
