I just successfully rooted a Moto E 3rd Gen from Sprint. I assume 4th Gen root instruction is out there as well so that should get rid of the ads too.

Users feedback “the entire Amazon eco system that cannot be removed, and in some cases, nor disabled”. Apparently Amazon installs more than just ads. If I cannot disable the entire Amazon shithole then I’ll wait. My 5 year old LG Optimus is still functional.
