@ctcarl damn! tello doesn’t like my vertu … their paygo is the best i’ve seen
at this point i have a $3/minimum-month t-mobile paygo (10c per text/minute, no data) that i almost never use. i’m always home and i use google hangouts via ipad for free. essentially i pay $3/month just to have a mobile line open.
That’s not bad at all. I have a grandfathered TMOB “Golden Rewards” prepay line where any refill is good for a year. So every year I throw another $10 refill on, and keep it in my glovebox for emergencies.
Sticking with PagePlus. It’s on the Verizon network and is only $80 a year. Only $6.67 a month, find something cheaper than that.
There must have been some changes over at PagePlus. I had them for a year or so, and other than the fact that they were a Verizon MVNO, I didn’t find much to recommend them.
When I had the 2000 minute plan, it was a “3G only plan”. That didn’t just mean you couldn’t get LTE data, it meant that they would not activate an LTE device. Wasn’t a problem for me at the time, I had ZTE Venture 3G phones. But in 2017, that strikes me as a pretty serious limitation for any cell plan.
The other problem I had with PP (on a monthly plan) was that autopay routinely did not “re-up”. The dealer I used…and I had to use a dealer, because the 2000 minute plan was a “secret” plan that was only available through dealers…warned me in advance that, due to some sort of bug with PP, sometimes your autopay wouldn’t “take” and your account would expire. Several times I got to work and found that my account had expired in the middle of the night and I would have to scramble to re-activate.
Finally the dealer suggested that I put an additional $10 prepay credit on my account, and that would cover any brief lapses due to the renewal process. It seemed to work, but I felt that having to deal with a band-aid like that reflected poorly on PP.
All other things being equal, $80/year for cell service is pretty reasonable but, depending upon your usage, there are alternatives. For example, another Verizon MVNO, Selectel Wireless, has a 2000 min/1500 text yearly plan for $75.00. I used them for a year with no issues. They used to offer a $100/year plan with LTE data, don’t know if that’s still available though.
Right now, if you’re an Xfinity customer, I would go as far as to say that it’s impossible to beat Xfinity Wireless’ rates. I have several lines now with unlimited talk & text on Verizon for about $36/yr each.
If you’re not an Xfinity customer and you’re a very light user, Tello bears looking into. I have one line left on Tello. Their PAYG rates start at $10, which gives you up to 333 minutes of talk time, 1000 texts, or 500 MB of 4G LTE data, and as long as you place at least one call every six months, your credits never expire. So far I have one very light user on Tello PAYG for almost a year for $10. That is hard to beat.
If you don’t mind a T-Mobile MVNO, MintSIM is a pretty good value if you need data. They’ll sell you a yearly plan with unlimited minutes, text and data (throttled after 2 GB 4G LTE) for $180/yr.
Hi Melody, thanks for posting. Please add the name of the store/site to the title.
@frugalfreak They are. Connecticut has a long history of shenanigans like this. I remember 25 or 30 years ago, they came out with a marijuana tax stamp, hoping that drug dealers would fill out the forms and pay taxes on their weed sales. Really.
But what’s shocking is Newegg’s behavior. They are a California corporation and Connecticut’s Department of Revenue Circuses has no enforcement authority over them whatsoever.
If they decided to start collecting Connecticut sales tax, fine. But to hand over their customer list and sales totals to a government agency for what can only be strong-arm collection and audit purposes? Unbelievable.
And you can bet, every other state (except New Hampshire) will be watching the outcome very carefully. Easy money.
@liushibinnn please put the name of the store and the price in the title.
Thanks!

For folks who got in on the elusive Dell C1760nw color laser for $74.99, here’s a crazy cheap deal on toner:
$15.99, then check the box for a 30% discount…net $11.19
Enjoy!
FWIW, mine came in today. Popped in the magenta cartridge since the original had run out and the printer had quit.
Ten seconds to switch it out and I was back in business. I printed the same full page photo as I had yesterday, and it looked perfect.
@chyvan Wow, that’s what I call thinking on your feet! Talk about making lemonade out of lemons. Make it clear to the tenants that they need to buy renter’s insurance and provide the certificate to you before they move in. Also, give them a sharp price for cash. Win/win.
Just an FYI, as the OP rightly pointed out, sellers can still earn eBay Bucks for qualifying items listed during the Promotion Period and sold by May 24, 2018.
Great deal. Not available at the moment, though. Cheapest price on Amazon is $58.81 with free shipping, or $64.00 with Prime.

This is obviously Product Exchange for Review, at best. Moved to GPT.
If you live in a state with a use tax, you might want to view this before you buy anything from Newegg:

E-checks came in. Scanned by my mobile banking app with no problem, even the one that printed out about half size. w00t!

Tuskers would like everyone to know that his earlier post, linked above, does include a link to TD Bank’s Financial Literacy and Education program, among many other similar promotions.
His link does describe the Summer Reading Program – "The Summer Reading Program encourages students in grades K-5 to keep their reading skills sharp during summer vacation, and also help them save money -. TD Bank deposits $10 into a new or existing TD Simple Savings account when each child completes their own reading challenge 10 books."
However, it is not a direct link to the program such as that provided in MrsGuin’s post, so we will be leaving both posts up as each provides unique and helpful information.
Nice deal. As with all Sears garden hoses, they’ve been de-engineered quite a bit over the last few years…but at this price, I’m grabbing one for a spare.
Looks like the all-rubber version is on sale again too ($19.99):

Thanks for participating in the forums, but this deal is included in a previous post here:
In for one. Thanks, OP!
Thank you all for your participation in the forums.
This is a repost in the sense that it is the same vendor for a similar product as a deal posted six months ago.
For the benefit of our members who may have missed it the first time around, or might want to try a new flavor, I’m leaving it up.
@larrymoencurly said in Free Mercedes-Benz Wiper Blades thru 7/31/18:
As a person who has windshield wipers from the 1990s that are still good, I ask, why do Mercedes-Benz wipers wear out?
Um…because most Mercedes owners don’t remove their wiper blades, vacuum seal them and store them in a cool, dark place for 30 years, maybe?
Saucony “Run Your World” sticker still active
In the interest of folks who might have missed the original, as it is seven months old, I am leaving this up.
However, in the future, please consider searching more carefully before posting to be sure that your deal has not been posted already.
If it has, but you’d like to be sure everyone has a chance to see it, please reply to the original thread instead of starting a new one, even if the original is five or six or eight months old.
Thanks!

A little irony there, if you like that sort of thing.
Nice find @ctgolfer.
If you could clarify, though, that would be great.
The link you provided is for one 2.5 gallon jug of T-6 at $64.99. I can’t find the 2 x 1 gallon T-6 anywhere on Autozone’s site.
Was it actually the 2 x 1 gallon cases you found for $19.97? Both products do have rebates, but I don’t know whether the 2.5 gallon jugs are on clearance.
TIA!
