Hey everybody, I’m posting this again to hopefully get a few more people to check it out while everyone is active during the day.
I’ve been working on an improved forum for our contest and sweepstakes. PhatWallet is great, but it’s pretty primitive in functionality that could help us all track the contests.

I’ve created a server on Discord. If you’re unfamiliar, Discord is a forum/chat application/website that gamers use to communicate. As such, it has a ton of features that can also help us with contests. Below are some features I think we can use to our advantage.

• Separate Channels: Names go in the Names channel, Keywords in the Keywords channel. This allows us to organize the contests by type and makes it easier to follow them.
• Notifications: Notifications can be turned on for each individual channel, or none, so you can get a notification for every post. Also, you can be tagged by username to get notifications.
• Bots: This feature requires more work on my part, but I can write scripts/bots to analyze posts. So, ideally, some day soon I can have the Discord bot notify you if your name is posted in the Names channel.

@ronzilla yeah I think @dstall63 made a good point earlier. They really give out prizes to try to attract new loyal listeners, it’s not meant for us to hop stations and win from all of them because they don’t get more listening time out of that and advertisement money

@radiogrl wait what? When did this happen?? I really like Abel, he’s a great guy and seems to do really well with promotions. I just didn’t think he like seeing us much

@dstall63 I don’t think we did anything but say Hi every time we see him or Danielle at the events… I think he just doesn’t like consistent winners.

@Glorypants @aztec4life adding to the thought. Unfortunately, we have a forum user that might be getting singled out by the DJ’s and call screeners and I worry that they might be doing that because of unfriendly comments posted here (hence negative points).

On a similar note, I think Abel from 91X has a grudge against my wife and I… We try to be very friendly and thankful though in person, with any/all stations when we meet in person or on then phone. Oh well

@aztec4life I think the comment about negative points is referring to negative points with the radio station DJs and promotions people. If they read this forum, sometimes they might be a bit upset about some comments here. We’ve talked before about how it’s not a good thing to be known by the stations as a frequent winner, and adding negative comments to that can’t help.

I think everyone here tries hard and deserves to win, but this comes to mind:

I think we all need a reminder now and then that in the end this is for fun and we aren’t entitled to the wins.

Codewords that last an hour aren’t in a hurry, so don’t worry about posting it right away if your have a call in coming up. Nobody would fault you for not replying right away, just take it slow and ignore the forum until after the call instead next time

@dstall63 actually I’m on mobile so my problem is still a problem. I use the timestamps when looking back at old names to back-fill the spreadsheet. I don’t need the exact time though, just “:10” is enough

I wish they would just do a text contest! But I know that having it on their site gets them more advertising clicks/money

I’m okay with an online entry because people like us who are more committed have a better chance because there are a lot of lazy people out there who won’t enter online, but texting is much easier

@ronzilla thank you for including the times in your posts! I look at the forum from mobile and there’s no way to see the times. If nobody has been filling in the spreadsheet, I go through and backfill it and it’s a pain to figure out the times!

I’m really concerned that nobody here has had their name called on either station yet …

Can this be a feature request for @dangeRuss ? Either a popup functionality for mobile to view the actual timestamps, or a way to toggle all messages to show relative time or absolute.

@bigd for what it’s worth, I don’t think the links he posts are usually referral links. Like that big iHeartRadio contest list isn’t referral links at all

@kohlspowrshopper thank you for the reply. I visit the forums exclusively on mobile, is there some way to view that popup on mobile? Tapping on anything just causes it to load the link to that post.

I imagine this has to be a common request, but I don’t see any other posts on here. It’s incredibly difficult to figure out when a reply to a topic was posted when the only indication is “1 hour ago”, “2 hours ago”, etc. There should be an option to view the timestamp as an actual value (e.g. 2:03pm).

@ronzilla oh! Someone put Shelley as the 1:10 in the spreadsheet. I fixed it now

Do you know how to make the comments here say the actually time instead of “1 hour ago”??? I hate having to figure out which hour the post was sent during
