Staples reward not issuing ink recycling reward lately?

Am I the only one who hasn’t been getting rewards lately? My account would show number of cartridges recycled and how much reward earned but when time comes for reward to be issued, I’m not getting anything. I’m running a couple of accounts so I’m trying to stay low by not calling them.

@m0dster Try chatting. I know there was an issue on getting Jan rewards issued in Feb, but things were working OK for me in March (Feb recycle) (although even though they said rewards would automatically fix themselves for Jan, I had to contact them to reissue them).

@m0dster I’ve been receiving Rewards on both of my accounts. A month or so ago a few people didn’t receive their Rewards but I did. I’m not sure if they recycled on the last day of the month but they called and got Rewards credited.

I asked staples to see what happened and they said had something to do with having multiple accounts. My accounts ship to the same address, so they probably got flagged but manually unblocked.

@dangeruss GTK. My accounts have different addresses and when I order something on the 2nd account I either have it shipped to the store for pick up or have it sent to my office. Haven’t heard about it recently but in the past I recall accounts being merged.

@my4mainecoons I do the same. Different addresses and do store pick-ups. I even pay with Staples GC or VGC on the second account because many years ago Staples used to track CC numbers (don’t think they do that anymore). The only thing that I can think of is IP address or the phone number I used for pick-up.

I have one account, and my sister has one account. I’ve ordered stuff from my account and shipped to her address (just once, I think, last year). Sounds like that’s not a safe practice.

So I did a chat like @dangeRuss suggested. There was no mention of being blocked for having multiple accounts. I think the issue was the 20% back in reward for ink purchases online. For whatever reason that caused reward to not be issued. Anyway, they gave me a courtesy reward for the 20% back and said the ink recycling reward will be issued in April along with the March reward. I guess I will have to wait 2 weeks and see.

@dangeruss So no courtesy reward like you predicted. I’m not too hopeful about the upcoming reward either. I’m losing hope here. How did you get them to unblock your account?

It wasn’t blocked. If they say you will get it next month, you should get it. If you don’t, at that point they will issue courtesy reward.

Just an update in case people are interested. They told me I would get a courtesy reward for the 20% back all ink purchase promo within 72 hours. Well it never came. However, I did get the missing recycling reward along with this month’s reward as promised. Anyway, it looks like my account was not blocked and I can still do recycling. That’s good enough for me and I will probably just let the missing courtesy reward go.

I get 5% back on my Chase Ink cc. I use it to buy prepaid Visa gc when there’s no activation fee then use the Visa gc on other Rewards accts.
The nice thing about shipping to different names & email addresses is that those emails then receive nice coupon codes that my main account doesn’t receive. Since I spend the $1K for Premier, Staples doesn’t feel the need to offer me incentives.

I didn’t receive my Ink Recycling Rewards. I recycled later in the month: 3/27. Just chatted. I gave rep the receipt number and I’m supposed to have the Rewards in 3 business days. We’ll see.
Last month (?) I made an online purchase using 2 Rewards checks. I cancelled the order within 30 minutes. CSR said I’d receive both Rewards checks back. Only one came back. Chatted. They said they’d re-issue the missing Rewards check. It didn’t happen. Chatted again. It was finally re-issued.
