Although Iâve only been back with this group on PhatWallet for a short time, I was part of this group years ago on FatWallet, so I think Iâve earned the right to post a few reminders for all of us:

I would like to offer other suggestions to add to @monkeydoug list:
â˘Be nice, no bullying or personal attacks.
â˘Be respectful, no cussing (fâing, ass, F, WTF, etc. all included).
â˘Make sure that your post will benefit everyone, if not, message the individual in the PhatWallet messaging system. If you have to include â@nameâ in a post, instead, maybe that can be sent via messaging to that person directly.
â˘Please donât post near misses like âI was caller 8 of 9â or your âalmost wonâ gripes, etc. do that on PhatWallet messaging.
â˘If someone asks âdid someone get a codeâ, only respond if you âhave itâ, donât respond to let us know you didnât get the code because you were on the phone or on another radio station, etc. (it just wastes space).
â˘This is a local San Diego forum, there is another forum on PhatWallet for Los Angeles stuff.
â˘This forum is for contests, please donât post about PhatWallet technical support items (loss of connection, etc.), stock market stuff, GoFundMe, etc. there are other forums on PhatWallet for that.
â˘Yes, we want to hear about your wins but this forum is not a brag page or a way to tell others you are better at contest play.
â˘Group your post where possible (like other forums do i.e. slickdeals). It is not a competition to rack up the most posts.
â˘Please post your contest winnings that you want to trade but talk specifics directly in PhatWallet messaging.
â˘When posting difficult winners names, try your best or post the name with a â?â and when possible post the city as it might help the winner determine if it is them.
â˘Donât use other peoples real names on the forum, even if you know them or they gave it to you. Everyone should be able to stay anonymous on the forum.Here are the suggested guidelines that I promised to send out over the weekend. These guidelines were geared towards respectful interactions on the forum and towards the entertainment industry. As I see it, we have three types of users:
- Viewers - donât login or post
- Casual - want to participate in a forum with other casual posters around working a full-time job. Wanna win some prizes to have fun and donât care about the value of the prize.
- Competitors - Passionate, dominate posting and will attack if anyone threatens that, gets their social online and values their high post count.
When I sent the first post out on our contest thread, it was intended for âviewersâ and âcasualâ users, not âcompetitorsâ. A drama/commentary free forum, just codes, names & new contest posts, like other threads on PhatWallet (i.e. âDaily Radio Trivia for Clear Channelâ).
The last 30 days, the forum has been thriving, all users have been able to get a chance to post again, new users have started to participate and old users that left because of competitive behavior are starting to return.
If you want to be a competitor in a forum dominated by one personâs posts with bragging and social commentary, this is not the forum for you. I challenge those people to create their own PhatWallet thread and your loyal viewers will follow. Or join the existing San Diego âContestâ page on Facebook and see if they want a competitor.
