Chase Sapphire Rewards cash out questions
-
I earned $400 in Rewards for opening a new Sapphire account. It’s nearing the time to close the account so I don’t get assessed the annual fee. I have not used the card since meeting the spend for the $400. I recently read that one can no longer use Rewards to buy g.c. I have a Chase Ink.
Should I buy e.g. Amazon g.c. or pay a bill with the Sapphire then use points to pay the Sapphire bill?
Can I put Sapphire points on my Ink card’s Reward account?
Thanks.

Thanks. Not sure about the other bits but last
I checked Chase had a 10% bonus on pay yourself back. The catch is you actually need transactions to apply it to.

I checked Chase had a 10% bonus on pay yourself back. The catch is you actually need transactions to apply it to.Thanks. I called Chase. 20 minutes on hold to speak to someone off shore whose computer was very slow. It turned out that I had $800 in Sapphire Rewards. I guess the sign up bonus was more than $400. I couldn’t imagine how I would spend $800, get billed for it and pay it before the annual fee hit on Dec. 1 so I just had the Rewards transferred to my Ink account and closed the Sapphire. Now I have $5K in Rewards on the Ink.
