I had 4 of these, and they are delicious! I bought them 2 months ago.
-
I have bought them once from Costco.
-
Are they large ot small. i.e. how many in a can?
$32.34 packed in water. boo.
Sardines & onion on toasted rye with mayo.
-
They are large, I think there are 5 or six to a can.
-
Ranked best canned sardines by those who prefer a stronger taste, the Wild Planet Sardines are lightly smoked and kept in organic olive oil. Harvested in the North Pacific, Wild Planet Sardines are caught using sustainable methods that protect marine life and implement responsible fishing practices.

@my4mainecoons That sounds like a great sandwich!
anthonycolucci Now I like them better! LOL

I just came across this sardine taste test. They didn’t review the Wild Planet brand. I’ve always preferred King Oscar brand.

@my4mainecoons very entertaining video. great info.
-
I prefer the King Oscar brand also. I think everyone prefers the King Oscar brand, once they taste it, but its expensive.
-
@marvomatic How do the Wild Planet compare to King Oscar? King Oscar are small fish and you said that the Wild Planet were larger. Currently not shipping until mid March, btw. My parents only bought King Oscar so I only tried other brands later and was usually disappointed; hence my questions about Wild Planet.
When Rite Aid put King Oscar Mediterranean on clearance I bought them in every store I could. I just saw the price sticker says 59c on a can of King Oscar in my pantry (packed in water). IDK where I found it.
-
@my4mainecoons I don’t remember, Its been so long since I bought King Oscar.
I remember the fish was smaller, and it had bones. Wild planet is good, King Oscar is better, but expensive. Wow, 59c, I would have bought all that they had! I like the Wild Planet because its packed in olive oil, and healthier for me.
-
@marvomatic The bones are why sardines are an excellent source of calcium. I prefer packed in water and no salt but those are $32/6.
When I see things like 75% off Mediterranean or 59¢ packed in water I buy every can on the shelf. I have no idea what the regular price is but figure ~$1 each is good.
I just remembered that I can order a $50 gas gc as a filler to get FS (no Prime). Placed an order but it won’t arrive until mid-March. Stand by for my review.😀
