Website help - how to put iFrame or JS inside a HTML text box?

I have a website using the older (basic?) version of Google Sites.
I want to use affiliate linking, and I know how to create an HTML textbox but when I input the iFrame or JS code (predone from amazon) nothing appears. Help please?
