@kateivan Thanks for sharing. I never check the FB page because the code is usually listed here, so I would have missed this information completely. For me it’s good timing because I had been thinking that if I didn’t win any prizes by the end of the year I would stop playing…now the decision is made for me. Cheers to you and everyone who has continued to play!

@karinjel I have to sign in occasionally, but not every day. The SacBee site seems to be glitchy and touchy. I use my laptop rather than the mobile app and it seems to work fine most days, so not sure if that makes a difference?

@dstoye I’ve tried to find it also without success. I’ve also noticed that they’ve reverted to allowing only one entry at a time when redeeming points. In the beginning of this new program it was only one entry at a time, then for awhile you could make multiple entries at once, but now it’s back to one entry. It’s a frustrating program for sure.

RE: Sacramento Bee Loyalty Club (aka SacBee Rewards fka BeeBuzzPoints)
@kateivan That is good news! I was prepared to let over 2 million points expire because I don’t have the time to spend redeeming one entry at a time. It looks like the maximum number is 5 entries at one time, but that will help quite a bit. Thanks for mentioning it because I don’t think I would have checked for myself.

I want to notify everyone who joined our Facebook group “BeeBuzz AuntLinda” in September that I will close that account at the end of this month. It seems like appropriate timing since the BeeBuzz Points program is ending. If anyone has an objection or thinks it should remain open, please let me know by replying to this post or posting on the FB page. Thanks, and Happy New Year to all.

everyone/anyone have you ever saw your name as a winner on the new rewards site than go down there a
only to be told that its a mistake? this happened now TWICE to me and my grandkids. first time it was for the HOME AGAIN dvd I won grandson and granddaughter won only to be told it was a mistake and than they delated numbers 11-20 from list now today it showed me and my granddaughter as winner for the krup coffee grinder once again they changed the list GUESS IF YOU DO NOT PAY TO PLAY YOU CAN NOT WIN EITHER I don’t mind so much but to do this to a 13 year old disabled boy and my granddaughter is JUST WRONG@dynamiteGmother , a mistake?? WTH?? I guess that’s another strike against the new program. It seems to me if they publish a list of winners they are obligated to award the prize(s). You could probably challenge this to a person higher up the food chain if you’re so inclined.

Hi - first post
I am also disappointed with the new Sac Bee Rewards site.
Cumbersome and confusing and not the improvement they claim “we” wanted.
< this is clearly not what I wanted>To be clear on a couple of concerns I had, I asked SacBee Rewards a few questions and confirmed that:
- There is no purchase necessary to use and participate in the new Rewards program
To start using, “you” will be given a two-week, no-strings-attached digital subscription to the Sacramento Bee and be entered into the SacBee Rewards program. No credit card information is taken. At the end of two weeks, if you choose not to subscribe, your digital account goes away, but your
free access to SacBee Rewards continues. (you will be limited in the number of monthly online articles you may read on other Sacbee.com digital platforms.) - To enter a contest one must press the Submit button multiple times.
A slow, one at time, process that resets after each entry! - There is no specific web address for mobile users.
The new site recognizes the device you are utilizing to view the site, and configures accordingly.
This may already be common knowledge, but just wanted to share
Thanks @agxxman, great information! Hoping they clean up the new program so our group can continue to play together.

@taurus742 , I believe you’re right. The Read & Win, Bonus Codes and Daily Videos 1 & 2 are gone for good from BeeBuzzPoints. Everything that was contributed by The Bee has been transferred to the new program (in an awkward, weird sort of way). After re-reading the information on the changes, it looks to me like the only thing remaining on BBP will be the national trivia questions, and only until the end of the year. On the bright side, you’ll have a lot more time on your hands without looking up the answers for us each day. Good luck on your upcoming surgery and recovery.
Evidently we can continue to accumulate points each day on the “old” program for trivia and videos, plus anything available on the mobile site. We just need to remember to spend our points by the end of the month because I think after that, everything BeeBuzzPoints will be gone. Thanks to everyone who’s contributed so much to our group. It’s been fun! I’ll be sticking around for awhile to see if things improve on the new site, but will surely miss everyone who has decided to move on and those who cannot join the new program.

RE: Sacramento Bee Loyalty Club (aka SacBee Rewards fka BeeBuzzPoints)
On the new SacBee Rewards site, does anyone know what the 1000 point MONTHLY code word is supposed to be? It says it’s updated the 1st of each month but I’m not clear if there was one for December.
-
RE: Sacramento Bee Loyalty Club (aka SacBee Rewards fka BeeBuzzPoints)
@fivetalents , many thanks to PhatWallet for providing a welcoming place for our group. It’s been enjoyable and FUN and the support from the moderators has been amazing. I’ll be exploring the other opportunities here even if I don’t continue with SacBee Rewards.
In general the new program seems awkward, it feels like I’m running in circles and the prizes are underwhelming. So far I haven’t seen anything on the new site that would entice me to continue but we’ll see if anything changes before the end of the month.
Echoing what @kateivan and @taurus742 said - my newspaper is important to me. My job requires me to be in front of a computer for most of my work day and sitting down with The Bee is something I look forward to. I feel like a dinosaur because I prefer to read a hard copy rather than spend more time in front of a screen! The rising cost and declining content are frustrating though.
I’m only speculating but the Bee probably weighed the value of the BBP program against the expense. You only have to read the business news to know that all print media are struggling financially due to competition from online news sources, so they need the most bang for their buck. The personnel costs alone to maintain the BBP program must be significant and with so many BBP users/players not subscribing to The Bee, there’s less income to offset the cost of the program. They may have judged it to be an expense they can no longer justify. Business decisions can be unpopular but their first duty is to the shareholders. This one is disappointing for sure!
****@dynamiteGmother, I did this post as a reply to you in error. I intended to reply to @fivetalents. Sorry for any confusion.

Here’s what worked for me on the new Sacbee Rewards site …
- newsletter signup
- Daily Quiz 12.1.17
- Reader Poll 12-1-17
- SacBee Rewards DAILY code word = SNIFFLES (same as today’s Buzz Word on BBP)
- SacBee Rewards Daily (MN-FR) FACEBOOK Code = Thor: Ragnarok (same as today’s FB code on BBP)
- SacBee Rewards FRIDAY Ticket bonus code = SNOW (same as current Ticket code on BBP)
- Read Articles – points took a while to be credited (I did the ‘get social,’ games, and videos until the article points appeared)
- Facebook share article
- GET SOCIAL – Facebook like and Twitter follow
- GAMES – clicking one of the games will open a new tab that when finished loading will credit the points (no need to actually play the game) – return to SBR tab to click the next game until reaching the 500-point max
- WATCH OUR VIDEOS – clicking this button opens a new tab – points were credited after ad completes and the actual content begins playing – clicking for more on the video tab didn’t earn any points – closed tab, clicked ‘watch out videos’ button again, let the ad play and content begin, and another 500 points got credited – repeated until reached 2,500 max for the day (and nicely there was a message saying “thank you for watching, you’ve reached the max today” (and I think you can start the first one, return to the SBR tab and click the button to open a second video tab, and so on, so that all 5 will run pretty much concurrently)
- Reader Quest – GM, Fiona, and Muslims are the answers. Nice that the section and page numbers were provided-- hopefully in the future they’ll also provide the dates!! All of the answers were from yesterday’s paper (11/30). I did word searches in the e-edition archives in order to find the answers.
Tomorrow, depending on how much time I have and whether anybody is even interested, I can make a (shorter) list of what isn’t working. My first wish is that the tasks I complete would fall off the “get points” page or at least move to the bottom of the list. Slow response time is another issue.
Overall, I agree with @karinjel’s assessment. In my opinion, the new rewards site is cumbersome and was not ready to go live. As of this writing, if the Bee is dropping Triton trivia, I will participate only until BBP goes away at the end of the year. Sure, the chances of winning the larger national prizes are slim, but at least we have a chance at them. If BBP goes away entirely and is replaced by the new Sacbee Rewards site, it doesn’t seem we’ll have any chance at those national contests at all. This change may become a factor in whether my family decides to renew our print subscription.
@kateivan, I agree with what you and others have stated. The new program is a complete mess. If nothing changes, I will depart at the end of the month too. Thank you so much for exploring the new site and sharing your wisdom of what works and what doesn’t. A sad and disappointing change to a program that has been a lot of fun.

Just like yesterday, I received 1000 points each for 14 Read & Win questions using the mobile site. I also received a mystery 10,000 points, listed in my activity history but identified only be a series of dashes. I’m not sure what it is but I’ll take it!

Happy Thanksgiving!
No Read & Win questions on the regular site but you can get 1000 points for 14 entries by using the mobile link (select Menu > Submit a Code). Enter — (three dashes) in the “Enter a Code” field.
