we went to Chevy dealer. had a nice experience. no real hard sell … no hiding of the keys on the trade in …except fiance guy came over twice … which in reality was just to bring the numbers and do one of those benefits n … wins n losses type squares. Dealing with numbers was a total of 20 mins. Overall pleasurable exp.
Said we wanted to take numbers and ponder over the weekend. Left.
She was going with her mechanic to look at toyota rav4 that evening. he wont let her do anything. yeah right … she leased the rav4 RIGHT THEN AND THERE.
My only guess is mechanic guy is a little ego douche who wanted to claim some physiological win for being the big man and doing the bestest most bestest deal for her. I havent seen the numbers but no fucking way she rolls up there n signs paperwork that day and gets the best deal.
Big waste of mine and your time FW.

Going with girlfriends mother to visit n start the new car process. Old lady. About 6k miles a year. So she wants new for peace of mind. I’m also ok with that since I suspect it will be her last car ever if she buys n not leases.

So i deliver at night part time. I get 43 cents a mile paid by employer plus min wage and i use my own car. I was wondering … they didnt tax my milage in my check. Am i allowed to deduct the difference between what they paid me 43 cents and what this years federal deduction rate is of 53.5 cents a mile ?
havent looked this up nor asked anybody yet. it just popped in my head as a way to save about 100$

****I took your advice very seriously and opted to sell my TRU gc on the Bay.
Had 6 $25 gc. Listed 2 sets of 3 ($75 ea) for $66 ea. Most listings gave 10% discount, ie $22.50 for $25 gc. It was worth $1.50 to ship 3 at once vs. 3 separately, ie $66 vs. $67.50

I copied a listing where seller posted “gift cards will be shipped 2 business days after payment to avoid fraudulent charges”.
I photographed the back sides of the cards showing silver on the PINS had not been removed.
I photocopied receipts showing cards had been activated and enclosed copy w/ the cards.

I created shipping label immediately so qualified for TRS discount, but chose mailing date 2 days later. I offered refund if cards were returned with PIN’s still hidden and funds present.

I also really lucked out. One buyer bought both sets a few hours after I listed.
I checked him out. He had >3000 positive feedback. He’d bought a lot of TRU gc from other sellers and they’d all left him positive FB. He sells high priced Lego sets.

Raise was offering $18 for $25 gc plus I would have paid to ship cards to an online seller.
After shipping, fees and 10% TRS discount I made $18.75/card but I have the money and +FB.

@my4mainecoons … no refunds. scammers have machines that put that silver strip on the back. so somebody might get the cards info. return them … wait for it to sell to somebody else … drain the card.

Looks like im getting a pt job where ill be driving. Like 1k miles a week minimum. So i was looking at long term rentals if i can get the price right. Currently i essentially have a crown vic (mercury gran marquis) because im FATWALLET now PHATWALLET to the core. Its very reliable but id kill it driving all those miles.
So … i figure id get a long term rental if the price is right. Best i can find is tiny for about 650 a month. Which is the high side of what i WANT to spend. So come here to beg the knowledge of the family to see what tips n tricks y’all know.
The 650 a week would be an easy spend if it was a full size car or something. But for a tiny car im hesitant.
So besides waiting in the parking lot across from the rental place and waiting till they are out of tiny cars before i go to do an easy exchange.
What tips n tricks and especially what coupons or money saving ides do u have for me ??
