I guess ‘nonprofit translator’ is the legal angle for locast. But I agree that we should assume locast will be shut down too - aereo seemed very legally sound to me.

Good advice on calling - most googolplexes will have a wide variety of auditorium sizes, I’d ask how many seats there are for this one. I hadn’t heard a peep about this movie, so I’d think a tiny auditorium will be the main reason the seats may be gone.

I didn’t know about that rule, and agree with the principal - there are a lot of junk self published books. This one does seem to be an exception. MrsGuin’s contents listing seems more helpful than what I see on the product page now, too.

But the freebie seems to be over, I see $.99 for it now.

I believe that’s the deal again this year, mmyk. State efiling adds a big fee. My state has its own online filing system and is relatively simple. So if I’m getting a refund, I take the numbers from my tax software and paste them into my state form.

For our google accounts, we’ve gotten promo offers in the Play store this week for $.99 rentals for any movie. You have to claim it now and pick the movie by Jan 14 for viewing within 30 days, but it appears to apply for any available title.

These kind of offers have been YMMV for us in the past, so it may not appear for every account. This one did for each account we checked.

Yes, Black Knight is a great one, it was a kick to see and hear it in this game.

I’ve got a very modest PC - i3-2100 cpu, GeForce gtx 560 Ti video, but a ton of ram. This game really wasn’t playable for me. Very close, but there’s just a little too much lag in the controls. It also looks like there’s no “bump the table” control - which is crazy. Learning the tilt limits for a specific table is key (it’s an adjustable mechanical system in these old machines, so it does vary).

You get a nice free table to try, but it’s a pretty big download and install, so unless your system is a good bit better than mine, I’m afraid I can’t recommend it. I might upgrade in the next year or so and will probably retry it myself, but I expect many of my fellow cheapskates may not have hardware much different from mine.

I’m pretty excited about this - I’ve got a real machine in my basement (and this game does have a rendition of it). There are a few others I’d love to get access to, and convenient sessions on my pc just might fit into my entertainment schedule. I’ve been meaning to visit a local retro arcade/bar for a month and still haven’t gotten around to it.
