Did anybody get a digital check from this address today?
It’s a check for $44.52. I did file a claim earlier this year.
The strange thing is they ask for a checking account number to deposit it into. This is a huge red flag for me.
The company who sent the check, the check processor seems legit but who knows today?
I’ve received digital checks before from rebates but you print them out and deposit them yourself.
I’m calling the settlement administrator on Monday to confirm. I’ll update my post when I find out anything.
Just wondering if anybody else received this email?
    Thanks!

  • Same here… Wonder if it’s legit… Plz update once u get any info.

  • I bit the bullet.
This is a legit request. HOWEVER. when you go to the page, enter your phone number to get a text. After you confirm the text, you will be able to pick between some kind of “instant login” where you give you bank password, don’t do that. I would never trust my bank info to a random email. If you instead click “manual login/entry” you can put your routing number and account number in. This checkbook site may be the way Class-Actions go through now. NEVER NEVER use your login info for your bank, Instead always pick manual entry, you can put your routing and account number in manually to get what you are owed.

  • Ok, my friend just received a physical check today via USPS for the same amount from the settlement.

  • I received an email with an electronic check for the same amount. I have not deposited it yet.

  • Just received physical check in mail this evening.

  • Yes I was sent one thru email also. I never heard of this.

  • This company Checkbook is legit and I’m going the Instant Deposit way. It’s much quicker and easier. If you make a mistake in entering your account number you loose the money. With Instant verification there is no possibility of errors since they get the bank account number directly from the bank.
As far as the user name and password - I checked their app - they use a company called Plaid to do bank verification. Plaid is multibillion company with connections to all the banks in the US with security tighter than most banks. So it’s safer than the banks itself. I like that I don’t have to wait for a paper check try multiple times taking pictures and then wait another 2-3 days for the money to come in. Online is the way of the future and I’m in.

  • @boxninja

Instant Verification is much faster. And they don’t store your username and password. They use a different company called Plaid.com to do bank verification. Totally legit

  • @alanmax I got an eCheck. I deposited it to an empty account, and I’m waiting to see if it’s legit. Ill post updates. I’ve been following this forum since I got the email, it’s been helpful.

  • Hi, I got an account just now just so I can answer you on this. I just received the exact same check in an email. It looks legit but what is this business of wanting my bank account number and then saying not to photo copy the check or take a picture of it. It’s pretty demanding for a very small amount of money. This one is for the exact same amount as yours. It comes off as a little too anxious to get that bank account number.

  • Why would they be sending out each kind and not all of one type? Glad I got physical check. I would have deleted other option if I received email.

  • @ctgolfer You had a choice on your claim form for electronic payment or paper check.

  • @ctgolfer
What did you selected, do you remember? I don’t but some form gives you the option for check, e-check, Paypal.

If there was an option, I don’t remember. but must have chosen check if there was.

There wasn’t a PayPal option for this payment.

  • If there was a PayPal option, I chose that and they sent me an eCheck. I received it and deposited it to an empty account. It has not went through yet. I’d always opt for a paper check I’d never want an e check but I did have the empty account so I thought I’d try it. I’ll update later.

  • @diamondaries999 there was NO Paypal option!!!
    PAYMENT ELECTION:
Please indicate below whether you would like to receive your payment in the form of a check mailed to the
address provided in Section A, or if you would like your payment emailed to you to digitally deposit. Please
choose only one. If you do not complete this section, payment will be sent via mail.

I would like to receive a check via mail. I understand it is my responsibility to inform the Claims Administrator of any changes to my contact information provided in Section A of this Claim Form.
I would like my payment emailed to me to digitally deposit. Please issue my payment to the following email address:

  • Yes but the problem this isn’t a proper e-check. Got that before a couple of times, you either print it or take a photo from the monitor with mobile deposit.

  • Ms SOZ is getting her old-fashioned settlement check today via USPS.
    Mine is still pending.

  • @ctgolfer when was your check printed/what’s the expiration date? I have one sitting at my house but I’m out of town for a month and didn’t know if I needed to have my roommate mail me it or not.

  • @sonofzeus when you get your check can you tell me when it was printed/what’s the expiration date? I have one sitting at my house but I’m out of town for a month and didn’t know if I needed to have my roommate mail me it or not.

  • @katelynann Will do! Q. Are you somewhere warm/sunny?

  • @katelynann Ms SOZ check arrived. Issued 11/7/19. Void after May 2020.

  • @sonofzeus sweet, thank you so much! And it’s warmer here than back home, but not by much.

    Same here.

  • @diamondaries999 I went to Checkbook. It is a new way to eliminate paper checks. I opened an account with them. They in turn took out 2 small deposits and then I used them to verify my bank. My 44.52 was also deposited into my bank. I think it all legit and I will watch closely and see. Set up was like what paypal or any bank online would do.

  • @diamondaries999 It is legit. They paid me

  • I received this from LenovoThank you for contacting the Lenovo Adware Litigation Settlement Administrator.

The digital checks were issued from our office via “checkbook.io” and are legitimate. Please follow the instructions to direct deposit the check into your banking account.

You may also call (215)563-4116 and ask to speak to a representative regarding the Lenovo Settlement if you wish to verify the check verbally.

  • I received another very small stipend for this today - $3.47 check good for 90 days.
