We don’t have the big bag of beans.”. After back and forth, we settled on an acceptable substitution. At the pickup window and before getting the order, I said: “I really wanted to grind my own beans to my coffee maker specifications. Could I please have a free donut for the inconvenience?” She smiled and asked, “Which donut/” I got the Boston creme.

@mtnagel the cheap drip coffee makers from Kohl’s have a small electrode to heat the drip. Chicago tap water has dissolved stuff that eventually coat the electrode and the water doesn’t drip at 180 degrees. Vinegar doesn’t clean the crud.
