As a big fan of the B&D 20V Max powered line of various tools (yard tools, woodworking tools, etc) that use the same battery system, it might even be worth this much. Amazon is selling it for $169 at the moment, although I filled out their little form alerting to this lower price.
On the other hand, I’m still steamed about a B&D Pivot 20Vmax Dustbuster with an internal battery that petered out exactly 25 months of light use (one month out of warranty).
Even though it was engineered to use a battery pack with two fast-on terminals, which is easily accessible after unscrewing three fasteners, B&D doesn’t sell a replacement battery. So the whole vacuum is destined for the landfill.

Why would you be upset about that? That’s the perfect time to fail. Surely, you bought it with a CC that extends the warranty by at least one additional year and you now have gotten your money back for it?

@dangeruss Alas, I forgot about trying that route. I looked up my card’s terms, and sure enough it looked to be doable. That is after submitting all the paperwork for the claim, getting approval, and having it “repaired or replaced at the Benefit Adminstrator’s discretion”. Likely all resolved within a week, lol.
So have you had good luck filing similar warranty claims? At least I bought it for $58, and not the ridiculous $80 it’s going for now. Fortunately I came across a clearance Shark hand vac for ~$20 around tha time, and it’s been great ever since. No gradual fading of run duration over time, unlike with B&D Dustbusters.

Yes I file these kinds of claims all the time. With Amex is usually fairly easy, but they stopped offering this service on most cards, but they are still handling existing claims.
I filed one on Discover once (return protection) and it was a bit of a PITA. I haven’t had experience with other cards yet.
