I’ve never got a penny out of check51 because their cash out minimum is $20 (or 25), and now i saw the balance in my account is disappeared. Hate this app.

After 180 days of not earning or redeeming, Checkout 51 charges an inactivity maintenance fee each month. That might be what drained your balance to $0.
-
@mrvietnam yes, I very rarely use them. But i didn’t know they charge fees. Thanks for the info.

I had that happen to me for a few dollars. I deleted the app as I rarely used it.

Checkout 51 has had some good offers lately. About a month ago you could get several bottles (I think it was 5) of free Ragu spaghetti sauce after rebate and now you can get 62% off up to 3 bottles of Wesson cooking oil. They also have a rebate rather often of $2 off a $10 fresh beef purchase. Sometimes I look for abandoned receipts outside the store for that rebate. The 4 savings apps I use the most are Ibotta, Fetch, Swagbucks, and Checkout 51.
-
@mrvietnam The app I really use is Ibotta. Occasionally use fetch. And nothing else. I signed up swag account many years ago but got a sting from the first offer I participated (had all sorts of problems with login and my account never got the credit for it) so never used it again.

This offer is on again this week. I will move it out of expired deals.

3 bottles? How can someone eat that much oil? Plus the shelf life for oil can’t be very long.

You don’t have to buy three bottles to get the rebate. The limit is 3, but you could buy only 1 if you want.

Finally got to Walmart and got 3 bottles. After having a Checkout 51 account for over 3 years, I finally made it over $20. I should probably delete the app now since it takes so long to get your money since there are rarely offers I can use.

Store it in the fridge and it will last quite awhile.

The Wesson deal is back for the week starting 10/13/22.

@niniss Since I use oil slowly I keep the bottle I’m using in the refrigerator. The others are in my unheated basement and are still good after years. I refrigerate a lot of stuff because I use it so slowly, e.g. ketchup, raisins, mustard, even moisturizer.

We store nuts in the fridge. Anything with oils are subject to oxidation and will taste off. Don’t have to worry about canola oil, but for oils that solidify in the fridge, like EVOO, I keep a small bottle out of the fridge I use as needed. When it’s getting low, I get the big bottle of EVOO out to thaw, fill the small bottle and put the big bottle back in the fridge. Lasts a very long time that way.

@mtnagel I always had garlic go bad before I used the whole head. Recently I started freezing it. In oil is the only safe way to freeze garlic. I have a ~2 oz. jar with peeled garlic cloves covered with oil (canola) in the freezer. Removed from the freezer it liquifies very quickly. Remove what I need then back into the freezer.
