Where is a reliable source to buy a replacement phone battery?
-
My Samsung Galaxy Note 4 phablet has been faithful although it is starting to overheat rather easily and shut down on its own. I’ve never purchased a replacement phone battery before. Since everyone here is kind and helpful I thought I’d reach out for suggestions on where to buy a reliable replacement phone battery. Any advice or tips?
Thank you so much!

Our town has a store called Batteries and More (not sure of the name, but I can check tomorrow when I go into town and post it for you), and they carry a wide variety of cell phone batteries and can order what they don’t have in stock. I have an older-than-dirt Samsung clamshell, and they had the OEM battery for it in stock last year.

I bought one on Amazon and it was working pretty good until it got hot out and then the phone started overheating and even melted my screen off.
I ended up just buying a refurb Pixel for $200 and I’m pretty happy with it so far.

I’ve bought OEM mobile phone batteries for various models and brands from 3rd party sellers on Amazon for years without any problems.
I make sure that I choose sellers with a lot of positive seller reviews and sales (preferably in the thousands), that battery is a genuine OEM, that the battery has a lot of real reviews (hundreds, if not thousands), and the battery reviews are at least 3.5 stars (with reasonable/acceptable reasons for downvotes in the reviews). Finally, I only buy if the 3rd party item is shipped by Amazon so I have Amazon’s backing in the case of any problems/disputes.
I tend to pay $6 to $9 per battery, always with free shipping (sometimes I can stack a slow shipping bonus because I have Prime). All of the batteries I’ve bought on Amazon have lasted as long, or longer, as the original battery and performed exactly the same.
