Technically not just for a CD, but Ally’s offering an extra 1% on a CD, savings, or checking account if you put new money in by Oct. 31. Have to sign up for it by 10/21 and add funds by the end of this month. Have to leave funds there until 1/15/2019. Should get your bonus by 2/15/2019.
It looks like if you open a CD for a year you’d get their 2.5% rate plus an extra 1% so (if I understand it right), you’d get 3.5% for a year.

Just received an email from Navy Federal CU that on January 9, they will be offering a Special 15 Month Certificate at 5.00% APY. I contacted NFCU and they stated that the minimum deposit is $50 and maximum is $250,000 for the above mentioned CD. The Special CD offer may run through April and the CSR stated that it will be an add-on CD.
-
Regarding the new NFCU Special CD referenced above and their waiving of EWPs (early withdrawal penalties) -
I opened a 15 month CD Special 1/10/23 with $50. Yesterday, I contacted a rep via online chat and she agreed to roll over the funds I have in existing 3% and 3.5% CDs expiring 7’24 and 10’24 with no EWPs. She did so in a few minutes while I waited and now all of the funds are in the 5% CD expiring 4’24.

(just a note on the NFCU 15mo CD special referenced in my post 8 days ago) -
For those who are long term members (25yrs+), they appear to be getting a .25% rate bonus, so 5.25% APY on the CD. If you have been a member less than 25 years, it wouldn’t hurt to ask the rep is you qualify for a bonus.
-
