    That’s a separate offer.

When you said “Using an app is not a requirement” I thought you were pointing out that you can now order PrimeNow/Wholefoods for home delivery online (previously you could only use the app).

That’s why I provided the link for convenience. Then i said also and pointed out the 1st time user offer in case someone wanted to use that first (and provided the separate/different offer terms)… because you only get one chance to use it. (edited for clarity)

If you spend $10 at Whole Foods with your Prime ID, they’ll give you a $10 Amazon credit for Prime Day shopping. That’s it. You don’t have to use to install/use an app to participate in this offer.

@ctgolfer Your title and 1st line of your OP state that you must use the Whole Foods app or Prime Now app. However, the terms state “scan your Prime Code, use your linked mobile phone number at checkout, or make an order via Prime Now,” and “at a U.S. Whole Foods Market store and scan the Prime Code or use their linked mobile number at checkout.”

Caveat: as I and others noted in this thread, linked phone numbers don’t always work in-store. I used the online method to link my phone number: “Visit here to add your mobile phone number for use at Whole Foods Market.” You can also use the Whole Foods Market app to add a mobile phone number to your Amazon account (instructions here)… I don’t know know if you need to link your phone number through the Whole Foods app to make sure it works properly in stores.

I can’t find any information on how to generate a Prime Whole Foods QR code online/without using an app (so you could download a pic or pdf to scan in stores). However, If you already have the basic/generic Amazon shopping app, you don’t need to install either the specialized Whole Foods app or Prime Now app since you can generate and use a Whole Foods QR code with the basic app… Just open the shopping app, and search for “wholefoods qr.” Then click on "Scan your Whole Foods Market QR Code.” That’s one less app to download. If privacy/security is your concern, download the app on a sock drawed unactivated WiFi only phone that’s been reset/cleansed of personal data, generate the QR code, and take a screenshot of it. Then you can send the QR code pic/screenshot to the mobile device you plan to take with you to Whole Foods.

    Bump.

  • I bit on this deal, although I usually don’t darken the doorway at Whole Foods (I’m more of a Kroger type). I found out it wasn’t quite as simple as it’s being promoted.

Even though I’ve had Amazon Prime for two years, and I’ve had my cell phone number linked to my Amazon account, the Whole Foods cashier could not “find me” using that phone number. Nor could their customer service. I did have that phone with me too.

I was told I could use either the Amazon app or Whole Foods app on my cell phone to get to what they need. Neither app was installed (nor will they be). I’m not into the app-commerce thing, in general.

Then they said I could log into Amazon on my cell phone, and once logged in, access the Whole Foods area. So I did that from a browser on my phone, and when I accessed “Whole Foods” from Amazon home screen, up popped a scannable QR “Whole Foods code”, which is evidently what they needed. Right above it it says: “Prime members: Scan at Whole Foods Market to save”.

I made and saved a screen capture of that QR code in case I decide to shop again at Whole Foods (guessing it’s static).
Oh yeah, and then did a “Clear Browsing Data”

You’re an example of exactly why I posted the detailed info above… the exact same this happened to me the first year they had this promo (when they bought Whole Foods), except I had the basic shopping app installed on the WiFi only phone I had with me (no personal data on it, used for 'commerce"/shopping discount apps only). In the section I bolded above, you provided the missing link: how to generate the WF QR code without ever installing any of the apps! It didn’t work when I just tried it at home on a different mobile phone with no Amazon/WF apps, so it may work in-store only.

The one from the browser changes every 90 seconds. The one from the WF app changes every 15 seconds.

That’s interesting. When I did this deal a few days ago, I saved a screenshot of my QR code at home. It must have been a couple of hours later that I actually checked out… the QR screenshot worked flawlessly. Maybe each QR image encodes the same info indefinitely no matter how many unique ones are generated (I’ve no idea how QR codes work beyond the scanning bit). I’m going to use that exact same screenshot the next time I shop there to see what happens.

Has anyone done this? How long does the credit take to appear?

I can’t say because I didn’t check my actual account itself because:

    • The cashier confirmed that credit was applied
    • I immediately received an email from Whole Foods Market “You’re Set Up to Save with Prime”
    • I immediately received an email from Amazon Prime “You’ve got $10 to spend for Prime Day”

To see it on your actual account, put an item shipped and sold by Amazon in your cart and go to the checkout page. If the credit is on your account it will be automatically applied there. The easiest way to find such items is from your Subscribe & Save order list or any using Amazon brand device (Echo, Fire TV, etc.).
