IMPORTANT Changes to Walgreen's Balance Rewards Program effective May 2019 (RUMORED)

Balance® Rewards program changes
Starting Nov. 4, 2018, we’re simplifying our redemption levels so every 1000 points equals $1. You’ll be able to redeem at any of these five tiers, including the new 4000-point tier. The maximum redemption limit per eligible transaction is 5000 points ($5 reward).The ‘banking’ of points for MM redemptions (ie 40000 points for $50) are ALL BEING ELIMINATED. Top tier is 5000 points for $5. In other words, if you buy a $15 items best you can do is redeem $5 in points towards it.
IF YOU ARE SITTING ON A MOUNTAIN OF POINTS, be sure to do the 40000 points for $50 before 11/3 as that ship will sail. If there’s nothing you need, do it anyway, buy something and then return it for a merchandise credit so you don’t lose the value of the points.

Most posts say that will happen in early May. Guess we’ll have to keep our eyes peeled.
However, to redeem $50 you’ll need 50K points, no more ‘bonus’ level perk points. (was 40K for 50K in the old days)
