Kroger Supermarkets: Visa cards will no longer be accepted

This is at their Smith’s Supermarkets, starting April 3. The swipe fees charged by Visa are too high, according to Kroger. Who knows if they’ll attempt to roll it out to their Kroger branded stores. I don’t use a CC for groceries or for most other purchases, but I have very rarely experienced an occasion when I forgot I was out of checks or didn’t have enough cash with me and ended up reluctantly using my no-reward-but-extremely-low-interest-rate CC, but I know a lot of people put everything they can on their CC in order to earn more rewards.
