Virtual reality devices are placed over the eyes and allow you to experience other settings or environments in an immersive, 3D like way (e.g., a rain forest, outer space, a haunted house, a cartoon world, etc.). Things look very real… like you could reach out and touch them, and everything visible around you in the real world is blocked out. VR devices can cost up to hundreds of dollars, but inexpensive cardboard kits like this one let you get a feel for the experience by using your cell phone (not required in high end/$$$ devices) and various apps that you can download depending on the alternate world you want to explore.

Yes, and those are only the apps made by Google. If you search for “VR” in the Play Store, they have about 250 VR apps made by various developers.
