I am a close friend of MrVietnam and what he tells me is he bought a $60 Albertson’s e-gift card (they do not offer Albertsons physical gift cards on Amazon) and a $50 Golden Corral gift card (for $40 after the $10 off $50 purchase deal on select gift cards). He got $110 of gift cards in all for only $57 after the Am Ex promo and he is happy with that 48% off on two stores he actually shops at. He also had an Am Ex offer clipped that gave him 500 Am Ex rewards points for an Amazon purchase of $50 or more. 500 points is worth $3 and change I think when converted for payment at Amazon. MrVietnam usually does not shop much at Albertsons due to their high prices, but every once in a while they have sales that bring him into the store. Case in point, yesterday they had 2 Thrifty ice cream 1.5 quart tubs for $5. Thrifty brand ice cream at Rite Aid now is about $7 each, maybe more. So using that Friday only deal along with the $5 Fresh Pass credit for December, he got 6 tubs of quality ice cream for only $10.
