Charles Schwab will drop brokerage commission fees from $4.95 to $0 for online trades of US and Canadian stocks, exchange traded funds, and options as of October 7th

TD Ameritrade will also be $0 commissions starting on Thu, Oct 3.

Well, thanks to SCHW (or possibly Robinhood), everyone else is following suit.
ETrade and Fidelity all have $0 trading commission fees, but the latter has an activity assessment fee (from $0.01 to $0.03 per $1,000 of principal) applied to sell orders.
