Do you have to use the Instant Ink that they’ve been pushing lately, or can you choose to use ink cartridges instead for this model?
-
No, you don’t have to use the HP Instant Ink Program… you can use 3rd-party ink carts.

You’re welcome. Unfortunately, I can’t find any info specifically stating that you can use HP brand non-instant ink in the 2680, although they clearly sell such ink carts. Personally, I find it much cheaper to use either 3rd party replacements carts or ink refill kits (for refills, I drill a tiny hole in the original carts for each color). I’ve never had a problem other than the low ink warning light staying on nov matter how full the carts are.

@Dionaea Forgot to add…I highly doubt that they could legally force/compel you to enroll in a proprietary, fee based, ink refill subscription program. So think it’s an option… also “Instant Ink” is in the name of the carts, but not the printer.

Looks like eBay has replacement ink cartridges in standard as well as XL capacity…looks like it uses a #60 cartridge

Thanks. It is indeed listed under the specs for the non-Instant Ink #60 carts. No wonder I couldn’t find this model under the specs for the #65 carts… which is weird since the printer comes with free #65 carts.
