Price keeps going up on these, now $21.89 for a pack of 16 AA batteries. I used a 20% discount code, 87632215, which helped bring the cost down by $4.38. The only reason I’m buying them is so I can turn in 10 ink cartridges and will get the $20 reward for those plus the battery cost reward. And we have plenty of AA and AAA batteries on hand. Wish they’d do the same offer for C and D batteries.

@dionaea Just keep an eye on the expiration dates

Didn’t think about checking the expiration dates, ctgolfer, but we do go through quite a lot of AA and AAA batteries. Last February when the power was out all over my area for 5 days, we used several battery-operated camping lanterns that take 3 batteries each plus we gave batteries to neighbors. I use the lanterns when walking the dogs after dusk up and down our quiet deadend rural side road. So usually batteries don’t get a chance to expire in my house. (smile)

I price matched with Amazon in store at Office Depot and that brought the price down to $12.79. In the past I have also successfully price matched by using chat. That makes the batteries really cheap when you do that because not only do they price match, they leave the coupon you clicked on in your cart. That is why when buying online I usually place the order first and then go back and price match to keep that coupon in my cart. So say you clicked on a 20% discount code. After price match it would be 20% cheaper than Amazon or whoever you used to price match. It might be so low that it takes you under the needed $10 for ink recycling though.
A few years ago they did have a few week period in which you could get any size battery FAR, but that is once in a long while they offer that, I agree. At that time I also was able to get power banks FAR, too. Those come in handy when you are on the go.
