YMMV Amazon Dash Wand is now $12.71 and still includes the $20 credit after your first purchase using the wand (credit expires 6/1/18)

EDIT: This deal is YMMV at best since the credit is not automatically issued and you have to chat with Amazon CSR to get the credit as “Goodwill credit”

I noticed that the Amazon Dash Wand is now $14.42 and the offer page for the $20 credit is still live: https://www.amazon.com/b?node=16962180011. I chatted with Amazon and confirmed that this $20 credit offer is still available upon first use. (I Noticed in a few reviews, however, that some people have not received the credit without doing a chat. So perhaps the credit is not completely smooth?). The $20 credit should work for any item sold by Amazon themselves, not specifically AmazonFresh items, which makes it easy to use up. I don’t use AmazonFresh, but it would be neat to be able to add other kinds of items to my Amazon cart, like detergent or deodorant, by scanning a bar code, and have it saved in my Amazon cart for when I get around to it. You’ll also be getting a quasi-Alexa device basically free! Dash Wand can also be used to purchase add on items without having to add $25 in items. When you register the wand, Amazon will offer you a free 90 day trial to Amazon Fresh, too.

In any event, if you have Prime or even a free Prime trial and have NOT done the Wand promo before (limit 1 per account), you should be able to make a $5 profit in Amazon stuff with this purchase once you use it one time. After that you can use the Wand to avoid the Add On limit, hack it for some other purpose perhaps, or add it to your recycle bin.
    Good luck!

Offer is non-transferable and may not be resold.
Offer discount will be allocated proportionally among all promotional items in your order.
If any of the products or content related to this offer are returned, your refund will equal the amount you paid for the product or content, subject to applicable refund policies.
If you violate any of these terms, the offer will be invalid.
Unless an Amazon Gift Card is the stated benefit of the promotion, promotional codes (including those placed directly in accounts) may not be redeemed for Amazon Gift Cards.

Unrelated, but be on the lookout from an e-mail from Amazon about getting a $5 credit (goof for 14 days) for downloading Kindle to your smartphone. I downloaded it, got the credit, and then deleted the Kindle app from my phone. YMMV on getting the offer, of course.

Haven’t actually received my wand yet (it is due to be delivered on Monday), but from reading some of the reviews online at Amazon it appears that when you scan an item with the wand and it adds it to your Amazon shopping account the price for the item is inflated (sometimes greatly so). I will test it out when I get mine and report back later or maybe some people who have a wand already can chime in.

The wand has a magnetic back to it so I plan just to keep it on the refrigerator in the kitchen and use its Alexa functionality after I drain the free $20 credit. I have Echos and Google Assistants in both the living room and the far bedroom. Thus device should cover the kitchen, which is in the middle.

If you are interested in exactly how this device works there are several good videos on You Tube that you can look up.

  • Shows up as $20, but is lowered to $14.42 in cart! In for one. Thanks!

That’s strange. I ordered one this morning and the price showed $14.42. Now, about 5 hours later, I checked the price and it is 3 cents cheaper, $14.39. In true phatwallet spirit, maybe I should call Amazon and try to pricematch. j/k

EDIT: Just checked again 15 minutes later and it is a penny cheaper ($14.38). The price seems to be very fluid for some reason.

Now it is selling for $14.32. It seems about every hour Amazon is dropping the price by about a penny.

Why did you edit your title to say “expired” @MrVietnam? The price is still getting cheaper (currently $13.56) and the $20 credit doesn’t expire for months (“Promotional credit expires at 11:59 p.m. (PT) June 1, 2018.”).

    I “Unexpired” it.
Hope I did not annoy anyone 🙂

I expired it because no one was getting the $20 credit automatically unless you chatted with Amazon customer service and when Amazon agreed to issue it it was showing up as a goodwill credit. I have a large banked gift card balance and I do not want to go around asking for credits from Amazon and potentially put my gift card moved at risk. HTH

Don’t you think it’s better to put YMMV instead of EXPIRED ?

    @marcopolomle
The Dash Wand is now selling at the regular price of $20, so another nail in the coffin for this deal.
