Target stores have a Target Circle deal this week that gives you a $15 Target gift card when you spend $50 or more on select home care essentials, and many of these same products are included (Bounty, Charmin, Gain, Tide, Cascade…).
There’s no reason that same receipt can’t be used for this rebate, right? $50 worth for $20 would be a really great deal.

Just a reminder: registration started today.

I’m already an add-on member on a relative’s membership that’s about to expire. I wonder if that disqualifies me from joining as a “new member”?

I filled out the rebate form earlier this week and submitted it along with a copy of my receipt dated 3/16/23. Today I received an email saying they couldn’t process my rebate because my purchase didn’t occur within the promotional period. ??? Last I knew, March 16 was still between January 1 and April 1.

Just a heads-up:
I didn’t realize I still had a card on file with Walmart till a $13.99 charge hit today for a 1-month Walmart membership. Too late to do anything about this month but did cancel going forward. Might want to check your account to make sure you don’t make the same mistake.
Trial membership with free shipping was great while it lasted but we just don’t order enough to justify $13.99/month.

Shortly after Covid started we switched to using these and similar alcohol wipes after learning that 70% or stronger alcohol kills viruses in less than a minute. While according to the labels on antibacterial and/or disinfectant wipes, even Lysol or Clorox state that the surface needs to stay wet for 4 minutes in order to sanitize.

When I received my second dose I was told “don’t laminate it!” because they won’t be able to write on it if/when we receive booster shots. They said to instead make a photocopy or scan both sides, place back to back, and laminate that. Then carry that with you and keep the original in a safe place.

This is a great deal. I’m slightly embarrassed to admit how many years I bought this in smaller spray bottles, till I realized a few months ago I could save a ton of money buying this and refilling the spray bottle. It can be diluted 5 parts water:1 part Lysol and still sanitize and disinfect. This size bottle will last a LONG time.

Just an FYI if you’re buying wipes in an effort to avoid Covid:

I feel like I’ve learned way more than I ever wanted to know about Covid, but being high-risk along with very high-risk family members and caring for two elderly relatives has made it necessary. One thing I learned is although products such as Clorox wipes and other disinfectants kill bacteria quickly, when it comes to viruses such as Covid if you read the fine print it says “TO DISINFECT: Use to disinfect hard, nonporous surfaces. Wipe surface to be disinfected. Use enough wipes for treated surface to remain visibly wet for 4 minutes. Let surface dry”. Who spends 4 minutes making sure the surface stays wet?? A much faster, more effective (and even less expensive?) option is this, also sold by Staples:

Have hesitated to use delivery services because of the added cost per item (even curbside pickup is almost always more), but from what I understand Target owns Shipt so they keep prices the same as in-store to better compete with Amazon and Walmart. $35 minimum order to get free delivery.
Covid cases around here are skyrocketing, so $49 a year is a small price to pay to limit exposure. Granted, Target’s grocery section isn’t exactly Wegmans, but it will be a great way to get same day delivery on basic foods, cleaning supplies, personal care items, etc., without having to leave the house, especially with our Northeast winter just around the corner.

I finally found the Leinenkugel (sp?) Oktoberfest beer and bought a 6-pack last night, but now I don’t see it mentioned here. Has the rebate expired? TIA.

I bought a few boxes of these. I’ve heard of three ways to see if these are effective so I tested a mask and it passed with flying colors:

1. Can you blow out a flame while wearing it? Nope…it didn’t even flicker.
2. When you hold a flame to the inner layer does it melt instead of burn? Yes.
3. And recently (per Dr. Oz): Does it hold water? Yes…waited a good 30 seconds and not a drop leaked through.

Maybe there are other methods to test these masks but so far these seem perfectly good. We’ve gone through about half a box and so far no issues (not even the occasional broken earloop that sometimes happened with others I bought earlier). At this price kind of a no-brainer to stock up, keep a box in the car, etc…

Our church collects new hats, gloves, toiletries, etc. to donate at Christmas. With this deal (using a Kohl’s card) I was able to get a total of 36 pairs of gloves and 40 hats for $103, plus earned $20 in Kohl’s Cash.

Is there reason to be skeptical of the safety/effectiveness of these low priced masks? I have no idea what was the typical cost of disposable 3 ply masks before Covid-19 hit. In April I was paying $1.50 for one of these (one mask, not one box!) at Wegmans, so this is a crazy price difference. Are these current low prices merely a reflection of supply finally catching up to demand?

I tested the above suggestion to see if the middle layer would melt, not burn. Held a flame to it and sure enough, it melted. I also tried blowing out a candle while wearing the mask. Flame didn’t even move.
Just to see if it would be too hard to breathe while wearing two masks, I tried doubling up last night for grocery shopping. It was slightly more restrictive to breathe through but honestly not bad at all, and this is coming from someone who already has significant scar tissue in my lungs.
I will say that one of the ear loops came off while taking one of the masks out of the box. Not a deal-breaker for me, certainly not at this price.
I’m ordering more, for myself and for relatives that have been taking a risk by re-using similar masks to try to make them last longer.

We have several extremely high-risk family members from age 6 to 94, so we can’t take Covid 19 lightly. When things started going downhill back in April we started using disinfectant cleaners at home and disinfectant wipes when out, for wiping down a credit card after using it, etc… Thought we were being careful till we found out that most disinfectants have a much longer “contact time” than we realized (the amount of time a surface needs to stay wet in order to kill the virus). Most need at least a few minutes. According to the CDC website, even Lysol spray which is one of the few the EPA has recommended so far and is probably the holy grail of disinfectants, needs at least 2 minutes to be effective. But 70% rubbing alcohol needs only 30 seconds. These wipes are 75%, so they’ll be perfect for keeping in our car to use when we’re out.

I ordered a box and they arrived Tuesday. At first they looked identical to the much higher-priced ones I’ve been buying at Wegmans at 10 for $7.99 (no idea who makes those; just a generic blue and white box that says "Earloop Masks, Premium Non-Medical Use, 3-Ply, High Quality, Melt-blown Fabric, made in China). But when I compared them further I noticed two differences: the inner white layer of the eBay mask is smooth while the inner layer of the Wegmans mask has more of a quilted look. That made me think the Wegmans mask might be better quality. But while wearing them, the Wegmans mask doesn’t move when I breathe in and out even with a close fit while the eBay mask does, and I’ve heard that’s a feature you should look for in a mask to show that it’s fitting snugly enough with few air gaps. All 50 look good, nose piece works well, ear loops seem fine and are even long enough that if needed you could tie a knot in each loop for a closer fit. At 50 for $5.50 these will be great for one-time use in fairly low-risk settings. I’ve read that some people wear two for added protection; haven’t tried that but guess it’d be worth the added peace of mind in a higher-risk situation.

Great price but it doesn’t look like these have any kind of nose piece to pinch for a closer fit. Masks with that gap across the top make me uneasy.

After this was posted my daughter and I placed two separate orders for in-store pickup (at two different stores nowhere near each other). I didn’t order this bench, only some other summer clearance items but I never did receive order confirmation and my card was not charged. Daughter’s order for this bench and some other outdoor furniture was finally confirmed on Wednesday, but then cancelled yesterday. Not impressed.

We’re seriously considering a new Rogue so I went to the Nissan site yesterday morning to check inventory at our local dealership, and the $50 gift card offer unexpectedly popped up. Did a test drive in the afternoon and the gift card was emailed to us within hours.
