Thanks for that info. It looks like another possibility is to get the “Staples | More Account” credit card.

It looks like things are working better this month. I did get my Oct. rewards and ink recycling, though not at a Premier level even though my reciept and the online rewards page indicated that I still have premier status… I called, and my premier status has ended, but I will get credited for all 20 cartridges anyway, but premier status is now gone.

The CSR suggested I look into the “Plus” program (for $50/year). Would anyone like to share experiences about the Plus program?

That’s the same coupon number that they sent me, so it’s not a one time use coupon. Not sure if it’s targeted or not.

So the “$20 trick” still works? Nice to know. It’s been around for a LONG time, so is $20 still enough?

I got a $10 off coupon, good online only. I made an $11.xx purchase with 1-hour store pick to avoid the delivery fee.

I recently cancelled my O.C. (CA) Register Sunday only subscription because they jacked the price up too high. They wouldn’t budge when I called so I cancelled. Today I get an offer in the mail for 1 year of Sunday only for $1.
It might be dependent on zip code, so YMMV.

I do use the Citi VAN from time to time.
I used to use the Discover VAN also until they discontinued it.
I also like to use Paypal so that I don’t have to give out my CC as often.

I signed up on July14 of this year when there was a special deal for just $15. I just checked the terms and it is automatic renewal, but I have a full year so it will expire on July 13, 2020, I assume. It’s doubtful that you can, however, given they’ve been pushing a special on this about 3x a year now, you’ll probably find a special around closer to the time your membership is up.

My advice is: Be sure to recycle in July 2020 before it lapses on 7/13, then let it lapse. You have 6 weeks to see if a special comes around before you’d have to bring ink carts in again by 8/31.

My plan was to let it lapse, but they automatically charged my credit card to renew it. It won’t let me turn off Plus auto renewal on all credit cards.

Does this apply to Staples Plus members, or just premier accounts?

It applies to everyone. As a Staples Plus member you can recycle 20 ink carts and make $80 this week, as long as you have made your ink purchase of $30 or more sometime within the last 180 days.
