@prosperity just be careful about USPS and batteries. If they ask if there are batteries, you may be obligated to say yes, otherwise the insurance could be void. I know they specifically ask about Lithium batteries, and I’m not sure if that includes Lithium Ion, which is probably in the iPod touch you have. Also, I am not sure if there is a certain capacity that is exempt, such as in small electronics. Just wanted to toss this out there so you don’t get burned.

RE: **Resolved** Retailer subforum
@pruhtp I still think that individual stores/groups of specific stores as forum names is not going to work. There will be way too many. We do have the option of using tags though, which may allow us to merge our ideas into one. Perhaps a forum or two as a deal status indicator, and then tags for certain stores?

RE: Tips and tricks from an eBay seller (edit: will update original post till we get a wiki)
Can you list your qualifications (ie: number of feedback, years in business on eBay, perhaps an average annual dollar amount of sales, etc)? This may be useful for some folks to compare and contrast their strategies to yours, since eBay has the tiered store level and that kind of thing. Not everyone’s got the same “benefits” available to them and some folks don’t even bother with a store.

**Resolved** Possible request: credit forum
So, in relation to the huge FICO thread at FWF, I was starting to think that perhaps a Credit forum would be good here. Perhaps as a subforum of Finance? Any takers? I know I’d contribute a lot, as I was a heavy contributor to creditboards some years ago. I have many data points, etc.

RE: **Resolved** Retailer subforum
@pruhtp perhaps a YMMV forum then? You talk about keeping things clean, but I can’t agree that a subforum for each retailer would be clean. In fact, it would be the exact opposite. I think that’d be way too fragmented. Perhaps a big box retailer subforum, to encompass all of the big stores (HD, Lowes, Amazon, Target, etc.)? Just spit balling.

RE: **Resolved** Retailer subforum
@pruhtp we have an expired deals forum, where moderators (I assume) will move threads that need to be moved. Does that take care of the issue you’re talking about?

Request: Cash back subforum
I see a few cash back deals posted already. I think a cash back forum dedicated to these would be best. And, we should have a sticky in that forum showing a mandatory formatting for the title, so they’re searchable. For instance, there is one for eBay right now. The title should have eBay and the cash back site and the percentage in the title, so it’s easily found via searching. These can get lost in a Hot Deals forum real quick.
Thoughts?

RE: Individual Stocks/Investments
@anusha123 I understand. But mobile is better than nothing huh!

RE: Hot Deals Categories
@fivetalents I’d say this being public is better. No need for the mods to decide everything for the community. Everyone should have an input if they so desire.

RE: Manufactured spending
@eyj all that is available at ft, I think. So we are just replicating the content?

RE: Welcome FatWallet Refugees
@ananrefugee I used to frequent AnAnd strictly for the fs/wtb forum. I think I have like four posts elsewhere. I had a nice run, flipping Mini ITX stuff, back when carputers were rave-status. I wonder if my account still exists over there. Remember heatware? I think that’s still around…

RE: Staples Deals Week of 9/24: $1ar/ac Four Ream Case Paper
@mistercheap I’ve been doing it all along, if $2/ream is cringeworthy.
-
RE: Hot Deals Categories
@ananrefugee I agree. However, I think keeping it very high level is best. Perhaps the following:
Home, technology, automotive (including lease/buy), personal, other/misc.

RE: Free month of Amazon Prime if order delivered late (current Prime members only)
I suppose a good strategy to try to exploit this would be to process every item as an individual order. More of a pain to manage packages, and your UPS guy will probably start throwing the packages at your door, but the more deliveries, the better odds of one being late. Worth $100 per year? Not sure…

RE: Manufactured spending
@eyj said in Manufactured spending:
There was a FW heavy hitters thread that had a wealth of info back in the day.
https://www.fatwallet.com/forums/finance/1066749
Just about all the heavy hitters have migrated to private forums which is why you haven’t seen a dedicated MS thread on FW. There’s actually a good reason why this has taken place. Back in the day companies were slow to address MS techniques as they spread on the forums. MS methods that had little or no barrier to entry and were almost effortless survived for months and sometimes years. Fast forward to 2017 when companies are a lot more savvy and quicker to respond and a reliable MS technique can be killed in a few days once it is widely discussed online in a open forum…I was a member of a private MS forum and have since left. It comprised of many of the “HH” folks from FT and FWF, but it was stale data and/or turned into another platform for the HH people to just PM each other, rather than share. I think the whole “HH” thing is overblown these days.

RE: The INVESTMENT / RENTAL PROPERTY thread!!!!!!
@cajundavid Was thinking the same thing. Perhaps a couple $100-150k properties such as smaller 750-1000sq ft apartments or something. But we already own this one, which is why I am still stuck on figuring out what to do. The goal was always to buy it, fix it up a bit (hardwoods, bathrooms, crown moulding, new base moulding, etc.) and either flip in five years or rent it out. We’re about halfway there, and most of what we wanted to do was done or will be done by spring 2018.

RE: Manufactured spending
Again, the goal shouldn’t be to takeover the MS world. Therefore, the HH requirement is not a valid one. In my opinion, of course. Also I agree that “HH” is so subjective.
