RE: Sacramento Bee Loyalty Club (aka SacBee Rewards fka BeeBuzzPoints)
@kateivan said in Sacramento Bee Loyalty Club (aka BeeBuzzPoints):
Thanks for the comment, which I see was downvoted?? (Not by me, though I imagine it could be because “agreed” might not meet the community guidelines.) Am I correct in assuming that userids are displayed for upvotes, but not for downvotes to help avoid conflict? Or am I missing something? And if this is answered in the FAQ or elsewhere, please don’t hesitate to tell me to go look there.
If someone wants to down vote me, that’s fine - can’t expect everyone to agree with everything. When it’s in response to a compliment, just ignore it and move on! I can’t speak into the reasoning behind only seeing upvotes but your logic on it seems like a good reason - @dangeRuss would need to answer definitively however.

RE: TIME = MONEY: Collection of PWF strategies to SAVE TIME (even if it cost money)
This one may seem a little silly, but it has become a huge time saver for me - and no cost - if you wear buttoned shirts, don’t fully unbutton them prior to washing. I used to dread big loads of laundry because I’d spend tons of time fixing the ones that turned inside-out in the wash, then putting on hanger, doing all the buttons to get them to hang straight, then straightening collar. Now I just undo the top button or two and pull the shirt over my head - they don’t turn inside out as often and the hanging/re-buttoning is way faster and less frustrating. Wish I hadn’t spent years feeling like I had to undo all the buttons for them to get clean…

@ma-barker said in TIME = MONEY: Collection of PWF strategies to SAVE TIME (even if it cost money):
We have free supply of wood from a tree company that dumps the tree cuttings in our property. We invested in a wood burning heater and log splitter which were not cheap, but it has lowered our bills during the winter. I also managed to sell the excess wood we have when people stop by offering X amount for Y amount of wood; I take whatever offer knowing supply always gets replenished.
We’ve also maxed out our home insurance deductible to the point we’re “insuring” ourselves for catastrophic events. … … It seems costly at times but we’re of the mindset that it’s going to be way more expensive if we don’t make the necessary repairs now.
Same here. Deductibles as high as I can get them and accepted the fact that “small” things are on me years ago. Unless it’s something major, it’s not worth filing a claim and screwing my future rates/insurability.

RE: PW Milestone! Registered User #1000 - Welcome kflattop!
Thanks @Meezer_Mom - definitely not just me pulling this off, it’s been a group effort - and what I find kind of amazing is that we’re all a group of strangers who randomly banded together and made something happen. Nobody was told to do it, nobody was forced, it was just “all hands on deck and let’s get 'er done.”

RE: Welcome FatWallet Refugees
@NittanyLioness …and if someone doesn’t tag, you can also use search at the top of the page (the magnifying glass) to search for Kohl - that way you’ll get hits for both Kohl’s and Kohls

RE: Official REDBOX Video Rental Codes Master Thread
Got this in email today:
Days of Deals is back - Text DEALS to 727272 daily thru 10/15
There’s also the post above by @fivetalents that says you can text POP to 727272 daily thru 10/15
No idea if you can use both, one of the Redbox experts will need to weigh in.

RE: Free Equifax Credit Freeze, ID Theft Protection & Monitoring Through 01-31-2018: NOW OPEN TO EVERYONE
Going to toss this out there also - if you’re checking your reports to see what is out there, also a good idea to see what is in your CLUE reports.
C.L.U.E reports come in two flavors:
There’s one for personal property loss pertaining to your house and one for auto losses. You must be the owner of the home or vehicle you’re requesting a report on; you can’t do it speculatively for a car or property you’re thinking about buying.

RE: **Resolved** Request for a pet deals section
I think this is something that will take some getting used to by folks coming from FW - we need to make tagging obvious if we want people to use it - those not familiar with tagging or the functions available here probably have no idea they even exist.
Suggestions, anyone??

RE: mark as expired
or just post a reply and use the @Global-Moderators tag to let all of us know? Didn’t think of that before.

RE: FatWallet closing: Final Day Monday 10/9
@pitflyer - what you describe is one of the main reasons we’re here and glad you joined us. The sense of community goes a long way and it seems very few find that at SD. Welcome aboard and let us know if you have any questions or suggestions.
…and, yeah, I may have puked a bit myself…

RE: Pagination Vs. Infinite Scroll
Thanks @fivetalents - appreciate the assistance!
@craig10x - that’s completely up to you! some folks like everything on just one long page (infinite scroll/pagination turned off), others prefer seeing things page by page. I’d suggest you play with the settings to decide what works best for you - there is no “right” answer, it’s all just your personal preference.
@ everyone else - sorry we’ve hijacked this thread a bit. but hopefully this information will be helpful for others as well.
