FYI, there are some rumors that this $100 referral program is ending this coming Friday 8/21.

If they do end the referral program then, you would still be able to get the high interest accounts. However, you would not be able to get the $100 referral bonus plus potentially another $200 if you refer your significant other & they also open the account.

In case anyone interested, posted in another thread about credit union that gives 5% on up to $500 and additional 3% on up to $3k. They also have a referral bonus where you get $100 for signing up for fee-free checking & depositing a >$500 check.

Should’ve led with that.

I think this is the better deal but people seem to like the $100 (to be fair, $100 is only slight < 1 year total of your total interest if max out above = $115).

Also, if you open and refer P2, that is $300 in bonuses right there + the interest on the savings accounts you open.

I’ve had a poor experience with opening accounts with this credit union. They asked me to send them my driver’s license via email and then asked me 5 security questions, also through email. Their security seems rather lacking.

P2 was asked to send SS card via email. Went ahead and just uploaded via their online portal and was approved. Can also upload ID, address verification, ACC certificate with initial application or via portal.

Step by step for document portal/messages with customer service:

1. Sign up page

2. OPEN A CHECKING ACCOUNT

3. Check Status

4. Enter Last Name, email, SSN

5. Now you have two options - upload documents or message credit union (both at the bottom of page). Upload documents is what we did. Message could work for the ID verification questions. Just in case, you could let them know via email that you uploaded/replied via the application status page.

No monthly fees for Everyday Checking.
No account closure fee as far as I can tell but I plan to keep it open. (EDIT: Added fee schedule.)
Bonus is paid same or next day in my experience. This even works on weekends!
