This is the worst HYSA I’ve had the displeasure to work with. My plan was to take advantage of the 1.5% interest rate. Opening the account was the usual process - went just fine. After my initial $1k deposit I went to transfer a sizable amount and discovered that this bank does not allow ACH transfers between banks - they can only accept wire transfers or check deposit at a limit of $10k/day. To withdrawl funds, the same process.

I tried calling in to discuss with them and guess what - their phone lines were down. I had to talk via chat and ask for them to call us. I told them I was shocked at their lack of ability to handle ACH transfers and wish to close the account. Because I’m closing before 120 days - a $10 fee and now I get to wait for my $990 check. Costly mistake of time and money.

Thanks, they specifically asked not to send 1040X. They asked for SCHEDULE SE (Self-Employment Tax) for Social Security tax. They mentioned no other forms and schedules. I now plan to attach SCHEDULE SE and SCHEDULE C and since I am characterizing my 1099-MISC income as business income I plan to complete a brand new 1040 Form only and not a complete return. There are no changes to other forms and schedules such as SCHEDULE A (Itemized Deductions), SCHEDULE B (Interest and Ordinary Dividends), SCHEDULE D (Capital Gains and Losses) and Form 8949 (Sales and Other Dispositions of Capital Assets).

So I am not attaching these forms and schedules, but only Schedule SE, Schedule C and Form 1040.

Only $10,000 / Day Transfer To/From External Banks.

I was impressed with the 1.5% rate and was about to open an account. However, I then chatted with them regarding the dollar amount maximum transfer allowed to/from external linked banks. It is only $10,000. That is absurd considering most banks like this allow much more, like 100K to 250K.

So, only use this bank if you are willing to slowly deposit and withdrawal amounts under 10K.

I wasn’t able to locate the chat you reference but it sounds like there was a disconnect here. It is not correct that we cap external bank-to-bank transfers at $10k per day. If initiated by an outside bank Northpointe places no limit on the transaction amount.

I am a very infrequent Ebay seller. Last item I sold was several years ago. I placed an item for sale yesterday and because my email address had changed I missed notifications for 24 hours. Today, I checked the site and noticed several offers (this was NOT an auction but a fixed price Buy It Now). Several offers were low balls but a few offered up to 17% above my ask price. I confirmed the highest offer. I have received no reply yet, so my questions are as follows:

1- Could some of these buyers be trolls (the highest bidder had joined Ebay just today and had poor English)?

2- How long should I wait till I give up, cancel and go for the other offers?

I have already contacted the highest bidder with email and sent an invoice through Ebay.

@vegasvegan Thanks, I actually called Ebay, canceled and relisted. This was Buy It Now with Best Offer option. I received high bid (bait and switch) offers and the one I picked seemed too good to be true (Nigerian scam artist). They first gave me a U.S. address (bait) and then switched to a Nigerian shipping address (switch). Ship it to us first and we will pay you later!
