I’ve been using Open Shell for years. I started off with Classic Shell then in 2017 the developer of that one said he had decided to stop maintaining it and proceeded to release the source code. Open Shell has been the most popular spin off I think. I’ve been happy enough all of these years to not look for anything else that would do the same thing.

You already get free shipping with the red card, so not sure what real benefit paying $50-100 a year for their version of Walmart+ will get you.
So this paid version is what they’ve been teasing on their website and emails. If they try to take away free shipping with the Red Card in a way to Kohl’s tanking their Kohl’s Card benefits I’ll stop shopping there too.

RE: Fetch Rewards point devaluation AGAIN 11/2023.
I had a good bit of points on this app and lost them all due to not making a purchase within three months I think it their dormant limit. I was pretty sick so I wasn’t doing much of my shopping and didn’t think to use the app for over three months. I forgot about being able to submit e-receipts.
I guess I got “spoiled” with Ibotta’s 6 months before they start to charge the $3,99. When I felt well enough to think about these apps my earnings were still there in my Ibotta account. Fetch Rewards not so much.

@my4mainecoons said in FDA may begin a process that removes phenylephrine from the market, which would force manufacturers to pull cough and cold medications from store shelves.:
I’ve called Phenylephrine fake Sudafed ever since it was the one that became the easier of the real and fake to purchase. It’s never done anything for me besides making my throat slightly sore.I’m in MS so real Sudafed has needed a Dr’s script for a long time so on the rare occasion I get one of those to go along with treatment for a sinus infection I get to feel great sinus wise for a short while. I use Flonase but it doesn’t really clear out the sinuses. I was given Astelin to use in addition with it to try and help the sinus thing. Only thing I got out of that was a bad taste that lasts for hours and awful nausea to boot.
All I’ve wanted for years is enough real Sudafed to be able to take it every so often when my sinuses get to where they’re hard to take.

RE: Kohl's Cash Gotcha
@mistercheap said in Kohl's Cash Gotcha:
Also, Kohls Rewards is NOT the same as Kohls Cash, it’s a distinct program from Kohls Cash. It’s paid out in $5 increments on the 1st of the month after you hit the levels. There’s no way a return is credited back to your rewards account at Kohls.
I didn’t say the two were the same. I know they are not. Returns can be deducted from a Kohl’s Rewards account as someone a few posts above this one also mentioned. It’s still going on. Someone mentioned it happening recently to them in the Kohl’s thread on SD.
I got out of the Kohl’s KC and Rewards game for the most part early last year. It’s curbed a lot of my purchases from there while also making my relationship with Kohl’s more mentally healthy . Now I only order something if I really want it and the price is actually good after discounts without factoring in KC. I’ve been sent small KC amounts out of the blue every so often to get me to purchase something since getting out which I’ll usually add to a purchase I don’t think I’ll want to return.
It’s easy to get wrapped up in it all trying to center purchases around getting KC, planning how to spend it before expiration after it’s issued, doing whatever to extend the expiration if no good sales or going on and then the returns stuff that get posted about in many places online.
-
RE: Kohl's Cash Gotcha
There was a post on SD about Kohl’s returns recently. The person made a return and didn’t get the entire amount back because Kohl’s took the earned rewards point amount from the purchase out of the refund.
The original post said…
“I made a return today and they took $8.07 off my refund. Curious as to why I looked up my online receipt and saw $8.07 was what they had given to me as rewards. So instead of taking it off your rewards account, they take it off your refund? That’s pretty terrible.”
When asked if they had used the rewards or spent KC they said this…
“I didn’t use any kohls cash or redeem any rewards. My current Kohl’s rewards has a balance of $15.49 and says: “$15 will be issued in Kohl’s Cash® on the first of next month.” $8.07 of that is apparently from my return. So instead of deducting it from my rewards, they make me pay for it. So my $8 is replaced with store credit that expires. This is really shady business.”

RE: Top Cashback: Poorest tracking of orders and repeated customer service denials of claims
I’m sure I’ll just get another sorry-sounding reply back, but I’m getting my two bits in. I’m pretty sure I’m going to be done with them after many years of satisfaction. And I will follow through and actively bad mouth them going forward.
These issues have made me really frustrated and sad as I said in a previous post after not having trouble with them for years. I had seen others complaining about TCB during that time and just thought “Oh it must be user error…”. Now I’m feeling bad for writing all of those complaints off for that reason when some of them could have been going through what some of us are now.
-
RE: Top Cashback: Poorest tracking of orders and repeated customer service denials of claims
@dangeruss I always keep my adblocker turned off on the CB sites and whatever site I’m purchasing from which usually results in no issues with whichever one I use.

@yoregano said in Top Cashback: Poorest tracking of orders and repeated customer service denials of claims:
I’ve historically had pretty good results using TCB over the years, but my last two did not track and I am awaiting follow-up after submitting claims. Transactions were at Home Depot and Hulu, FWIW.
I had good luck with TCB for years until 2021. I’ve had the “did not track” issues with one being refused by telling me the retailer told them I linked in from somewhere else. It was such a small amount that I didn’t protest it. I hadn’t opened any other CB sites before making my purchase though.

RE: TARGET CIRCLE MEMBERS: (ymmv) Make two $30+ purchases between now and 10/25, earn a $10 Target Circle Bonus (must activate offer)
I always seem to get some of the worst of their offers like this. Maybe because I just order from them online since the one store near me is too far away.
The offer I got was to make 3 $35 purchases for a $15 reward.

RE: Kohl's Deals Discussion Thread: Kohl's Cash, Rewards, Promo & Mystery Codes, FAQ's
@sublimosa Yes.
I only purchased some beach towels last week because I had two $5 Kohl’s cash I needed to spend before one of them expired. One was for my Rewards anniversary and the other seemed to be sent because they were trying to get me to purchase again. I used the thing to get free shipping through the app since the local store is 15 miles away one way. I might have felt a bit guilty had they not started to limit their coupon usage on brands, who actually receives the 30% off even cardholders and then deciding to limit how many times each code a person receives can be used.

RE: WELCOME NEW USERS !!! Ask your questions here! (flame-free) !!!
Thanks for the response @my4mainecoons . I’m hoping the points go through soon. I hate calling especially since these card companies use overseas call centers with the exception of Discover that I know of.
I have a Bluebird card in addition to my bank account and when I first applied for it I got rejected online because I had a Serve account (didn’t have a card or anything since I hadn’t done anything with the Revolution Account it was previously) I didn’t know about.
AE had acquired the company that they turned into their Serve card. When I called the Serve Customer Service to close that so I could get approved for the Bluebird the overseas person apparently had no idea what they were doing and I had to fax in stuff to prove my identity just to get them to close the account. That made me hesitant about calling AE for anything since I had another issue with a Bluebird rep misconstruing why I called once.

RE: WELCOME NEW USERS !!! Ask your questions here! (flame-free) !!!
I was approved for an Amex EveryDay Card a couple months ago. I finally applied after I got an offer by snail mail that was better then what I kept getting pre-approved for when it comes to the length of 0% balance transfers. Online it was 15 months and the mail offer was 18.
I transferred a balance, made a couple small purchases and haven’t earned any Membership Rewards® Points as of yet. I know I wouldn’t on the balance transfer but I thought I would on the purchases. I finally made my way to the rewards membership info and it says I have 11 points pending from my purchases in early June. My billing period ends around the 20th monthly. How long does it take for pending points to turn into actual ones?

If you played for one of those coolers on their app some people else where have deduced it may be for that. They just screwed up what notices were sent out.

Question about balance transfers and etc....
I’ve been getting offers to apply for Discover It weekly (usually twice per week), pre-approved offers for an American Express Blue Cash Everyday and/or Amex EveryDay Credit Card. The only credit card I have right now is a Wells Fargo Platinum Card (Non secured). Don’t have a high balance but the interest rate is so high that $20 off the minimum payment aren’t really doing much to pay it down.
After Katrina years ago my credit got messed up due events that occured. I’ve had the Wells Fargo card for about 6 years and some store cards which have helped build my credit back up.
I need to transfer my balance from the dreadful WF card due to the interest rate going up multiple times over the years when I’ve never been late on a payment. Which one of the cards that I mentioned above would be best to apply for in terms of benefits other then the transfer which they both are offering 0% APR for 14/15 mo?
I keep getting emails from Paypal titled “Congratulations, **********! Here’s your invitation to apply for the PayPal Extras Mastercard” which I want no part of. The title makes it seem they want me to be excited or something which I’m more annoyed by then anything.

RE: Walmart Savings Catcher Changes Effective (2/1/18)
I added the part about complaining at the end in case anyone wanted to try doing so. Not that it will make much difference.
I liked being able to move my rewards over to my Bluebird card so they could be used when ordering groceries for pickup from the neighborhood market. The grocery site doesn’t allow Walmart gift cards as payment so I’m interested in finding out if they are going to do anything about that.
-
Walmart Savings Catcher Changes Effective (2/1/18)
Starting February 1st, the Savings Catcher program will be changing to make redemptions easier. These changes include:
Your rewards will automatically be transferred to a Savings Catcher eGift card each time they’re earned. No need to manually redeem your rewards.
Your Savings Catcher eGift card will be automatically saved to your Walmart.com account for you, so you will no longer receive emails with your Savings Catcher eGift card bar code.
The ability to transfer rewards to a Bluebird card will be discontinued.
Walmart Pay will become the preferred way to spend your Savings Catcher rewards in-store. Additionally, you will continue to be able to spend your rewards on Walmart.com.
You don’t have to immediately spend your rewards when they’re transferred to your eGift Card. You can choose to accumulate them as desired.
For any questions or to complain about these changes, contact Walmart at 1.800.WALMART or through their social media.
