This was my first experience with Chase offers. I added this offer about two weeks ago, used 3-4 days afterward at a local restaurant on a purchase of $38, and received a $5 statement credit yesterday.

Mountain America Credit Union (MACU) has a 12-month CD at 5.25% APY with $500 minimum deposit and no stated balance cap. Easy membership requirement w/ACC membership. The 18 month promo CD is not listed on XCEL’s online application. The CSR stated that existing members can open the CD using XCEL’s online banking platform or by calling 973.275.9235. Those joining XCEL must establish their membership and then contact XCEL to open the promo CD.

For those who are long term members (25yrs+), they appear to be getting a .25% rate bonus, so 5.25% APY on the CD. If you have been a member less than 25 years, it wouldn’t hurt to ask the rep is you qualify for a bonus.
Magnifi Financial has a 7-month Certificate Special at 5.00% APY ($25k min/$250k max deposit) and at least 50% of deposit must be new money. Easy membership requirement ($10 donation to the Magnifi Foundation).

For those that can’t qualify for NFCU 15mo CD, UNIFY Financial Credit Union now offers a 15 mo Certificate Special at 5.00% APY w/$500 minimum deposit and they allow one additional deposit within 30 days of opening. Easy membership requirement (thru Friends of Hobbs, a non-profit state park, and according to the CU’s online application, “We pay your contribution to Friends of Hobbs.”)
Regarding the new NFCU Special CD referenced above and their waiving of EWPs (early withdrawal penalties) -
I opened a 15 month CD Special 1/10/23 with $50. Yesterday, I contacted a rep via online chat and she agreed to roll over the funds I have in existing 3% and 3.5% CDs expiring 7’24 and 10’24 with no EWPs. She did so in a few minutes while I waited and now all of the funds are in the 5% CD expiring 4’24.
Just received an email from Navy Federal CU that on January 9, they will be offering a Special 15 Month Certificate at 5.00% APY. I contacted NFCU and they stated that the minimum deposit is $50 and maximum is $250,000 for the above mentioned CD. The Special CD offer may run through April and the CSR stated that it will be an add-on CD.

Please note that as per a close friend, when she qualified for the ACP and had AT&T apply the discount to her internet, AT&T removed the ongoing discount(s) she had on her bundled cable so that her total bill for internet & cable actually went up!
