For those of you who do not mind clicking on e-mails, doing surveys, clicking on various items to get points, check out www.mypoints.com . The downside is you get lots of e-mails, many 5-point earning, many not, surveys are redundant and time consuming, you may not qualify for many surveys but you get a max # of points each day for non-qualifying. If you visit their shopping sites, be careful, but you can get anywhere from 1 point per dollar to 10 points per dollar spent (some more, especially if you like magazines). It takes a while to amass points, however they do not expire, and are redeemable for gift cards (both physical cards and e-cards). The positive - points do not expire and you spend points on whatever gift cards you may find useful. This definitely comes in handy when getting gift cards for people for the holidays. This year I cashed in $550.00 in gift cards which came in handy for the holidays and did not cost me anything out of pocket.

Funny, the 500 point Thank You award only gives 495 points. The answer for that is Covfefe. Try it. Soooooo we go from the opportunity of earning 100K+ points to day to approximately 10K or less. Hmmmmm, less point opportunities as well. I will give it a week or so to see how it works. I have noticed we are still able to watch videos and earn points on the old site, but I think you will need to spend them as well. Please correct me if I am wrong. I also noticed another price increase in the print subscription. We also spend all day in front of a computer screen, and the hubs enjoys reading a hard copy of the paper along with his morning coffee. I enjoy doing the crosswords in the evening. Been a ritual for many years. Gonna miss those 25K pointers and the monthly EzPay bonuses.

It worked for me yesterday, but not today. Today I only received points for sharing. I even made sure the little comment popped up. “Thank you for reading an article. You have earned 150 points.” I tried again this evening and received 450 points even though I read about 10 articles

@kateivan and @pumbug Same here. Has anyone actually kept track of their points vs what is shown? I did for a while and gave up the effort. My numbers did not jive with theirs.

I noticed the B95.5 mobile site had 15 videos instead of the normal 11. Starting tomorrow, I will start keeping track of the numbers so when they get “lost” again, we can find them. (If I can figure it out)

I noticed yesterday’s B95.5 5K “win prizes” points e-mail was an invalid code. Did anyone else have that issue or did you get the correct link? Thanking all in advance.

Has anyone noticed if there is a new point opportunity on B95.5 to replace the weekly 5k and 1k points yet?

I have noticed that many types of “points” sites have reduced and changed their offerings, making it more difficult to rack up points. It COULD be that it is due to the overall economy being better (not quite sure where). Things really popped when we were having rougher times. This is just my assumption and you all know what that means.

@toooldtooslow Not sure. I was advised by SacBee that is was a random automated pick by the computer (You guys may better understand than I do). The 1 time I won something, I had entered everyday for the entire duration of the particular prize I wanted. I never won anything since then using that same strategy.

On the new site, does anyone get the correct number of points for watching videos and reading articles. I watch and read more than the max and am lucky if I get points for 1 or 2.

One thing I notice on the new SacBeeRewards site is that prize winners have been winning multiple prizes. So I am guessing that if there is something you really want, you may have a good chance of getting it. Especially movie tickets

@karinjel Points have always expired if they are not used. They use the FIFO method. Some days Read Articles and video points show up, some days they do not. Today I was fortunate. It does take a while for them to show up, so check back later in the day. When you have days they do not appear, send an email to Greg Saunders. He will make a correction to your account. His e-mail is posted further down in earlier posts. They are aware of the problem and supposedly have been working on it for quite some time. Another site to visit that is similar to the “old” Beebuzz site is the B95.5 Albany site. Not quite as many point opportunities, but very similar. You need to sign up for it, and will only be eligible for the national prizes. (not local as they are in Albany, NY). The trivia answers are the same with 2 additional questions. They have daily Listen & Win questions. I usually get the answers from morethantrivia.com (best time to look is late in the day due to the time difference), Here are my Sac Bee Rewards for today…
