Oh, that makes sense. No wonder you have to be so careful about vetting them!

Yeah, I cut way back too. I just aim for one $25 GC (for 22.000 SB) per month now. Being charged taxes on non-taxable things like cash back if I go over $600 in redemptions per year is a huge disincentive. Life has been too busy anyway to invest in SB activities that take increasingly longer and longer to complete and pay less and less over time.

A funny thing is I think they’re hurting for traffic because they’ve been harassing me with near daily emails to start taking surveys again. They banned me from surveys about 4 years ago because I kept forgetting to not take surveys on my birthday. That always resulted in a fraud warning for me because their system hadn’t updated yet and I was claiming to be one year older than they thought I was. I either had to lie and say I was younger or miss a few days of survey $$$ because of their incompetence.

Well, I guess I forgot one year too many and they banned me for at least 4 years from taking Peanut Lab and Gold surveys. Plus they applied the ban on my MyPoints account as well even though I hadn’t taken any surveys in a little while over there. Nice birthday gift. Now they’ve decided to reinstate me (with a bonus lecture in each email about how to take surveys honestly). I’m not going to bother taking their surveys anymore because (a) they no longer allow you to update your survey profile, so I’ll just get banned again because my income, zip code, age, etc. have changed and (b) I’m still salty about the 4 years money they caused me to miss out on. I used to do a lot of surveys and redeem $100 to $150 in SB monthly… those days are gone.

Have you had any luck with the Facebook surveys? Some of the ads for those are shady, so I have to do research on the company (limited research at that.) There are some decent paying judicial opinion live surveys that advertise often on Facebook, but that might be primarily for people near a large city.

I’ve never hit $600 on any one platform, you must have been doing them daily. 🙂

I live near a major city but am averse to social media so I don’t use it much… maybe for an occasional coupon or freebie. I don’t even know how to take Facebook surveys, and I don’t have much time for it right now, but I appreciate the info for future reference. I belong to several survey panels and haven’t been taking surveys most of the pandemic (counterintuitive, I know). I still participate on several long term research panels that I was invited to through SB surveys, so that’s something at least. My goals used to be taking 5 surveys a day on SB, and monthly meter bonus on SB used to regularly be in the $15 range from hitting daily/weekly/monthly goals. Now I’m lucky if I break $1, hahaha.
