$15 off 2 @ $100 MC gc with J4u (Safeway, Acme, Shaw's, et al) exp. 9/12/20

This goes in HD because Mr.V gets 6% back on his cc making it a $12 MM for him.
If you do this early in the week then you can liquidate the MC gc by purchasing no activation fee Visa gc at Staples.
Then the Visa gc can be used to purchase m.o.
You may be able to use MC gc to purchase m.o. but I canât.Activation fee $5.95
2 @ $105.95 - $15 = $196.90
$3.10 MM + whatever you get on your cc

If you are an ACME shopper, donât forget to clip the two freebies today I posed about in grocery (salad dressing and 6 roll pack of Toilet Paper) along with this.

No, in my parts Safeway is Albertsons and Vons. Albertsons owns Safeway and all of its family stores. In January 2015 Albertsons officially acquired Safeway.

yes, but they have the Just 4 U digitals, right? thatâs where these appear.

Yes, Albertsons and Vons have the J4U digital coupons.

Any tips on who takes prepaid MC or visa gift cards for money orders? USPS used to then they shut that down. Supermarkets never did - only debit cards issued by a bank or cash.

Iâve heard from others you can use some of the prepaid cards as a debit card at Walmart and buy money orders there. Maybe Maine can chime in. I think she often does that.

I only know how to convert Visa prepaids. I canât convert MC to m.o. so if I have them I use them to buy Visas. Thatâs why I posted about the âno activation fee visasâ at Staples in this threadâs OP.
You can buy m.o. w/ debit cards at Walmart & Kroger. There may be other supermarkets but I donât have them so I donât know. I donât have Kroger but a friend converts all her prepaids at Kroger so I know they do it. If they ask she tells them its a debit card. One used to be able to do it at Acme but IDK about now.
Walmartâs official policy is only one debit card per money order and only one m.o. per day.
The WM register will allow one to use up to 4 debit cards per m.o. but YMMV
I used 3 at 2 different WMâs last week-- $200, $200, $100 for $499.12 m.o.'s (88¢ fee)

Found this after a Google search:

Money Orders
Warning: While this is an option, it is generally not one I recommend for most people. There are a lot of things to consider before buying money orders. Proceed with caution.
You can use prepaid Visa or Mastercard gift cards to purchase money orders at Walmart and various grocery stores. Which stores allow you to do this will vary by region. In theory the money orders purchased can then be deposited in your account and the money can be used to pay your bills.
Certain banks have been known to shut down accounts for depositing too many money orders and not all grocery stores will allow you to purchase money orders with these gift cards. The best way to find out your options is to experiment and research. Like I said above, proceed with caution and be aware of the dangers of structuring.

In Mr.Vâs link they mention that you can only convert MC gc to m.o. at certain WalMarts. I tried at my WM a few years ago and was unsuccessful. Its easier for me to use them to buy Visas which I know I can convert at WM.
IF I do this deal I will roll the MC gc on MC gc.
J4u#1. Buy 2 @ $100 using my Amex (only 3% back but better than nothing) $196.90
J4u#2. Buy 2 @ $100 using the MC gc from J4u#1. End up with a MC gc with $3.10 & 2 @ $100
J4u#3. Buy 2 @ $100 using the MC gc with $3.10 and the other 2 from J4u#2. End up with MC gc with $6.20 and 2 @ $100 MC gc.
J4u#4. Buy 2 @ $100 using the MC gc with $6.20 and the other 2 from J4u#3. End up with MC gc with $9.30 and 2 @ $100 MC gc.
etc.In the end I have one MC gc with $XXxx and 2 @ $100. Then I buy one $200 Visa gc at Staples.
I spend the $XXxx. Use the $200 visa to buy a m.o. at WM.
Since my Amex only gives me 3% back its not worth it to me to end up with a bunch of $100 MC gcâs because I get 5% back from Chase Ink at Staples.
If I buy e.g. 10 @ $100 MC gc then I have to spend them on 5 @ $200 visa gc.
Instead if I buy 5 @ $200 Visas at Staples using my Chase Ink I get 5% back.
So Iâd be spending time at Staples buying Visas for which I only got 3% back and needing more trips to WM for m.o.

FYI, if you want to roll MC gc you have to wait about 15 min. after purchase to make sure theyâre activated. I check the time when I purchase and donât try to use them until 15 min later.
When we bought 2@ $100 Visa gc at supermarket 2 wks ago I bought 2 as soon as I walked into the store. Checked the time. Looked for clearance items for 15 min. Bought next set. Shopped for a few groceries and submitted an iBotta rebate in the next 15 min. Bought 3rd set. Headed home stopping at another store along the way. At 15 min mark I bought a 4th set. Checked their clearance shelves for 15 min. Bought 5th set. etc.
One could say their time was worth more than $3.10 for 15 min which comes out to less than the minimum wage. Iâd be checking clearance shelves in supermarket anyway so its time Iâd be spending anyway. I wouldnât be working on a Sunday afternoon. This is recreation.
I used the XXxx gc from 2 weeks ago on Amazon.

Good advice on WM and money orders. The local WM doesnât let me purchase MOs with prepaid debit. One per day may not be worth it, and I donât make it a habit of cashing more than one or two MOs per month, and always with other checks I need to cash. This rate of money order cashing never raised an eyebrow at my local bank.
