Free Stuff Posting - Guidelines (effective 12/12/20)
-
Members:
Please do not post freebies that are geared to specific businesses (ie, contractors, medical practices, etc) Posts that violate this rule will be moved to expire w/no warning. Please report any posts that violate this rule.
Freebies must be for PEOPLE, not businesses. these include anyone (general public), teachers, nurses, students, etc.
The freebies which require a business name and are obviously a marketing promo for businesses are not for a deal forum as they simply target a very small/specific audience and create clutter on the boards.

@mistercheap When you say “report”, are you referring to “Flag this post for moderation”?

or just tag me in a reply @mistercheap
again, it only applies to freebies that are targeted to a BUSINESS. if the freebie is for ‘people’ it’s ok, ie, small business OWNERS, teachers, students, doctors, nurses, etc.
Items that are requiring a business entity to get the freebie is what we’re trying to avoid.

@MISTERCHEAP thanks!! Now how about those supposed freebies that require shipping be paid. Not free if you pay a 1¢!

A very nominal ship charge (or having to mail away for the offer w/ a 55c stamp) is a gray area. I think it depends on the value of the item. But certainly anything with a shipping charge over $1 is a no-no.
If you think something is questionable, just tag me and I’ll take a look and act accordingly.

@MISTERCHEAP I guess MrsGuin thinks rules do not apply to her.

I think it’s more a case of carelessness. Doesn’t really research what she’s putting up, just copies/pastes what ever she finds from other sites. But no matter, she needs to realize it creates a lot of work for mods, and needs to make sure the deals she shares are compliant with the rules.

@mistercheap to be honest I don’t think she cares. Just wants the posts. Not sure what she thinks it earns her.
