Its for any age! You do not have to be 50! There’s a wealth of information in this magazine and newspaper. You get both! Financial, security, etc. + You get a trunk organizer or a 6 port power and usb charger!

Thanks. I extended my membership for another 5 years.

@marvomatic I’ve gotten a free AARP membership in the past, I think from Walgreens, but don’t remember any outstanding discounts. I must have also paid at least one year, because I remember that vinyl trunk organizer. It didn’t last long (you’re warned)!
Sorry to be a wet blanket, but AARP and AAA both seem to exist mainly to sell life insurance–at least that was my impression. However, the AARP newsletter publication did have some good info in it. Their glossy magazine, on the other hand, not so much.
One last bit of advice is don’t supply AARP your main email address!

@ukedog Yes, I remember getting a free membership at Walgreen’s about, 10 yrs ago by buying J&J bandaids, I don’t remember getting a free trunk organizer.
I subscribed to it 4 yrs ago, and gave the trunk organizer to my housekeeper. I subscribed to it again with this deal, and this time I ordered a 6 Port Power USB Charger. Free is free! The newsletter contains a wealth of info, but the magazine has useful info, but less.

AARP was sending me the magazine even though I wasn’t a member and I didn’t want it. I called them and asked them to stop. I’d like the trunk organizer but not enough to keep getting their mailings.

Not to thread crap, but $9per for 5 years ($45) outlay seems like a lot. There are sometimes offers to get a year free from Walgreens, and various credit card offers to save $8 when using their visa. I have in the past paid $12 for one year on my Visa and gotten the $8 credit with a net cost of $4.

@mistercheap, with inflation, $45 sounds cheap, for a five year subscription! I like to read it, don’t like online at all! Plus you don’t have to do the deals, each time you want a subscription. I’m sure they will raise the price in time.
