RITE AID *UPDATE* Stock Issues/Black Friday
-
I decided to venture into a Rite Aid today since they’re running a $10BC/30 Q this week and I could break even on some deals.
The shelves continue to be barren, the ONLY toothpaste on the shelves for the most part were Sensodyne.
I asked a long time manager at the store about the lack of stock, she told me it really take months to climb out of Chapter 11, and they don’t expect the store to be fully stocked again until after the 1st of the year.
On a more depressing note, per this manager, they won’t be getting in much stock for Christmas (their Halloween stock is pretty dismal compared to prior years). That translates to a very crappy Black Friday sale season.
I have $20 Bonus cash from today, (paid $20 oop, also got $4 IBOTTA, so it was a $4mm) Have 30 days to spend it, hopefully can monetize most of it via IBOTTA or other rebates.
But I fear it will be a Bah Humbug holiday season as far as RA goes, with coal in our stockings. Sorry the news isn’t better. But at least we know.

Even before Rite Aid was in chapter 11 bankruptcy their black Friday offerings have been very dismal, so we aren’t missing out on too much
Sad to say I think the glory days of Rite Aid are behind us. I’m glad I was able to fill up a lot of my garage with Rite Aid stuff. I got cheap, free or money maker because I don’t think we’re gonna see that too much anymore going forward.
I am currently sitting on $0.00 in bonus cash so no real need for me to rush out to Rite Aid anytime soon.
I am finding my best deals these days looking at the clearance section at Big Lots. When you buy clearance food items and couple that with their store coupons and paying with gift cards you bought at a discount, it makes for some really good deals sometimes, as long as you don’t mind eating short dated food items.
With the port workers strike that started today we can only look for prices to go even higher.

will become even harder for RA to stock their shelves if the port strikes continue.

I wanted Sensodyne. I hadn’t looked at the toothpaste aisle in months and was surprised at how empty it was. As @MISTERCHEAP said, only Sensodyne and not very much of it. I had $10 BC expiring next week. I got 3 Sensodyne @$6.99 SP + NT vit E (BOGO) to reach $30. Paid ~$12-$13 after qs. Received the $10BC wyb $30 and $3 ibotta. Did it again. That gave me 6 of 10 items needed for my $5 Weekend Warrior bonus.

@my4mainecoons
I was at my local Rite Aid yesterday for my covid vaccine. Shelves were pretty empty.
